Creating momentum for development

In the 2020-2025 term, Dong Nai province has achieved many impressive results in developing CNC and HC agriculture with many good and creative models, contributing to improving people's income and lives.

Of which, the old Dong Nai province has more than 1,138 hectares of agricultural production area in the direction of HC. The proportion of the value of key agricultural products produced according to good and equivalent processes reaches more than 10.9% of the total area. The whole province has 9 agricultural production models that have achieved HC certification with nearly 29 hectares, achieving the plan target by 2025. In addition, in the province there are 124 agricultural production models in the direction of HC; forming 15 agricultural production areas in the direction of HC with a scale of 1,555 hectares, exceeding 5 times the target by 2025.

The old Binh Phuoc province is the "capital" of industrial crops in the country with an area of over 438 thousand hectares of cashew, coffee, pepper, rubber... Of which, cashew has the largest area in the country with nearly 150 thousand hectares. The cashew industry in Binh Phuoc province has attracted many processing and exporting enterprises to join in association with 38 cooperatives with an area of about 4.5 thousand hectares. In particular, the HC cashew chain has expanded to 3.5 thousand hectares. With pepper, the province has also formed a chain with nearly 2.5 thousand hectares of safe production, following the HC direction.

In the planning period of 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050, Dong Nai province identifies a high-tech agricultural area, large-scale, modern livestock farming - green, ecological tourism in the Northeast associated with Bu Gia Map, Phuoc Long, Bu Dang, Ta Lai, Nam Cat Tien...

Notably, the Trang Co Bu Lach Organic Cashew Agricultural Cooperative (Tho Son commune) has developed 1,700 hectares of cashew cultivation, all applying the HC production process. The analysis results of water samples, soil samples, fruit samples, and leaves in the cashew growing area of the cooperative all meet European standards thanks to the application of HC farming methods. The cooperative's HC cashew nuts have been exported to 34 countries around the world, including many demanding markets. Thanks to that, clean cashew nuts of the cooperative members are sold at a price 500-1,000 VND/kg higher than the general market price, earning good profits when participating in the clean production chain.

During the 2020-2025 term, the value of CNC agricultural products in the old Dong Nai province is estimated to reach more than 38.4 trillion VND, accounting for nearly 51.3% of the total value of the province's key agricultural products, reaching 102.5% of the target by 2025. The whole province has formed 8 CNC agricultural production areas; there are 436 CNC agricultural models; there are 328 CNC agricultural enterprises in production and business.

In the old Binh Phuoc province, 3 CNC application agricultural zones have been formed with a total area of 400 hectares; attracting 11.5 trillion VND in investment in CNC application agriculture, clean agriculture, HC agriculture, and agricultural product processing in the livestock sector. The province has formed a model linking CNC application agriculture with clean agriculture, HC combined with ecological urban areas - residential areas - tourism - landscape, achieving 25% of the target by 2025. The province has developed 96 CNC application agricultural cooperatives in production and business activities, achieving 96% of the target by 2025.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Van Thang said: The advantage for localities in the province to develop CNC and HC agriculture is that the technical infrastructure has been invested in. Concentrated agricultural production areas have internal traffic systems, irrigation, and basic power sources to meet production needs. The logistics system in the area is increasingly developing, creating favorable conditions for commercial activities of the province in general and the agricultural sector in particular; the planning of the industry's development space is focused, focused, and specified in the provincial planning to serve as a basis for investment attraction. The province has also effectively implemented many incentive and support mechanisms and policies with the view of creating all favorable conditions to attract investors.

Based on natural conditions, soil, and comparative advantages of each locality, Dong Nai's agricultural sector aims to have 9 types of crops including: rice, food vegetables, cashew, pepper, grapefruit, durian, mango, banana, rambutan and 3 livestock species: cows, pigs, poultry and some endemic and indigenous aquatic products to focus on building products that meet HC certification. The sector has also proposed 10 investment projects for HC agricultural production according to the value chain.

Expect stronger growth

After the merger, Dong Nai province continues to be the "capital" of livestock farming in the country with a total herd of nearly 4.2 million pigs, a total herd of 35.9 million poultry... Therefore, the output of waste and by-products in livestock farming, slaughtering... is extremely large and abundant. Over 90% of solid waste such as manure and bedding in livestock and poultry farming is collected and composted to make fertilizer for crops. In terms of crops, Dong Nai has an agricultural land area of over 1 million hectares, accounting for over 84.3% of the total natural land area. In particular, the province is also the "capital" of industrial crops in the country with over 498 thousand hectares; large fruit tree area with over 100 thousand hectares; About 165 thousand hectares of land for growing food crops... It is expected that each year, the total amount of crop by-products and preliminary processing from crop products will be more than 1.5 million tons, of which collected and processed by-products account for about 39%.

Currently, many localities in the province hope to create policy mechanisms, especially investment in rural infrastructure to create a favorable environment to attract investors.

Mr. Le Cam Tu, Vice Chairman of Tan Loi Commune People's Committee, proposed: The Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches should provide policies and development orientations on land use for the new commune, pay attention to budget allocation, and create conditions for the commune to make plans and attract investment. To attract investors, the locality hopes that the province will pay attention to supporting investment in electricity systems and infrastructure for the concentrated livestock farming planning area.

Mr. Dang Tuong Khanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trong Duc Cacao Company Limited (Phu Hoa Commune) shared: The nearly 20-year journey of successfully building a large cocoa field project of the enterprise has a great advantage: Dong Nai province has issued specific local policies; especially policies to support farmers and enterprises in building large fields, creating raw material areas for processing. When first building the large cocoa field model, Dong Nai was far behind the provinces in the Southeast region, but now it has taken the lead in area and output with nearly 900 hectares and an output of about 4,000 tons of fresh cocoa fruit/year. In particular, the enterprise has had 2 products certified with the national 5-star OCOP certification, affirming its brand with consumers...
