On the morning of September 21 local time (night of September 21 Hanoi time), within the framework of bilateral activities in Seattle, President Luong Cuong and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended the aircraft handover ceremony between Boeing Corporation and Vietjet Air at Boeing's factory in Seattle.
Taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US relations, this event is not only an important milestone of cooperation between Vietjet and Boeing, but also a vivid demonstration of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, contributing to promoting trade, investment and creating hundreds of thousands of jobs in the US.
Vietjet officially received the first Boeing 737-8 aircraft in a 200-aircraft order worth $25 billion with Boeing.

The new aircraft will be operated by Vietjet in the vibrant regional market, enhancing the experience for millions of passengers. At the same time, Boeing aircraft will realize the aspiration to expand the global flight network and develop regional and international sustainability of the new-generation airline.
Speaking at the event, Vietjet Chairwoman Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao emphasized that receiving the first Boeing aircraft from the historic order is an important step in the nearly decade-long cooperation journey between Vietjet and Boeing; and affirmed that this is a new symbol of the Vietnam-US relationship.

"The first Boeing aircraft in the historic order received by Vietjet is the result of nearly a decade of cooperation between Boeing and Vietjet, opening a new phase of continued delivery of hundreds of aircraft in the coming time. This event contributes to promoting bilateral trade, is a symbol of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States and the aspiration to conquer the sky, while bringing practical benefits to the two economies and creating more jobs for the American people," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao.
