National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attends the Vietnam People's Friendship Meeting

Attending the program, on the Vietnamese side were Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly , Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong and members of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation. On the Chinese side were Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wang Dongming; President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Yang Wanming.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son said that over the years, the Union and its member organizations have actively coordinated with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, other people's organizations and localities of China to organize many meaningful activities, contributing to promoting and educating the people, especially the young generation, about the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.

President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Yang Wanming emphasized that people-to-people friendship has always been an important foundation and a constant driving force for the development of relations between the two Parties and two countries. Friendly exchange activities and cooperation promotion between the two countries have made positive contributions to building and connecting the hearts of the two peoples, actively developing China-Vietnam relations.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Vuong Thuc Hue, a former medical staff of Nam Khe Son Hospital (China), recalled the memories of the difficult period when Vietnam fought for national independence, China built Nam Khe Son Hospital to support and treat wounded Vietnamese soldiers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, a representative of Vietnamese students studying abroad in China, shared that international students are always aware that they are an important force contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, and are proud to be a bridge of friendship between the people of the two countries through exchange activities in various fields.

On the basis of the good relations between the two countries and the common perception of the two Parties and countries at high levels, all opinions expressed the wish to continue promoting people-to-people exchange activities, further strengthening the foundation of sustainable public opinion, and contributing people's strength to promoting the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

Speaking at the program, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that Vietnam and China are two neighboring countries, mountains connected, rivers connected, and the people of the two countries have a long-standing traditional friendship. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the revolutionary predecessors of Vietnam and China, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, have stood shoulder to shoulder, united, helped and supported each other, and together created a close relationship of "both comrades and brothers", which today has become a precious common asset of the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries, which needs to be constantly preserved, cultivated and passed on to future generations.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that Vietnam always remembers the solidarity, close bond, and wholehearted assistance of the Party, State and people of China in the past struggle for national independence and in the current cause of national construction and development.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his delight at the very good development of Vietnam-China relations in recent years, with the two countries successfully coordinating to organize many foreign affairs activities, especially the historic visits of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China in 2022 and the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam in 2023, thereby establishing a new position, elevating the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance with the connotation of "6 more".

Emphasizing that one of the most important and fundamental directions of cooperation in the Vietnam-China relationship is to consolidate a more solid social foundation, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said at the meeting with friendship personalities and young generations of Vietnam and China on December 13, 2023 in Hanoi, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "The earnest and profound aspirations of the people of the two countries for friendship, peace, cooperation and development for generations are a source of great strength and a solid foundation for the belief in a bright future of the relationship between the two neighboring brotherly countries on the path of building socialism". General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping also said: "The root of the China-Vietnam relationship lies in the people" and "how to let the China-Vietnam friendship permeate the "hearts and minds" of the people of the two countries".

As the highest representative body of the people, representing the voice, will and aspirations of the people of each country, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that in their practical activities, the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China always strive to grasp and reflect the thoughts and feelings of the people, strengthen orientation, build social consensus, create and consolidate a solid public opinion foundation for the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China. This visit to China and the signing of a new Cooperation Agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China aim to maintain high-level strategic exchanges, concretize and implement the common perceptions of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, contribute practically to deepening and elevating the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and National Assembly of Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated and sincerely thanked the good feelings and extremely important contributions of the people of the two countries. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hoped that the National Assembly of Vietnam, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, and Vietnamese people's organizations would join the National People's Congress of China, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Chinese people's organizations to continue promoting and strengthening friendly exchanges between people's organizations, especially the young generation, and well organizing traditional exchange activities such as the People's Forum, the Border People's Friendship Festival, the Youth Festival, and the Vietnam-China Youth Friendship Meeting; Strengthen information and actively propagate the Vietnam-China friendship as well as the achievements of innovation, reform and opening up of each country, consolidate a solid foundation of public opinion, and orient the building of consensus among the people on developing the friendship between the two countries.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue believes that the fraternal Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping as the core and with the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, will successfully implement the guidelines of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, building China into a strong, prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful modern socialist country.

At the end of the people-to-people exchange, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and delegates enjoyed a special art program with famous works from the two countries.
