Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee received the Chief Representative of JETRO Office in Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of September 10, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung chaired a meeting and worked with the delegation of the Representative Office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi, Chief Representative of JETRO Office in Ho Chi Minh City, on behalf of the delegation, sent greetings to the leaders of An Giang Provincial People's Committee. Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi introduced information about the activities of JETRO in Vietnam.

During this working trip, Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi expressed his wish to hear An Giang province share information about planning, the province's policies on attracting investment; the need for investment cooperation with Japanese enterprises in various fields; and the local infrastructure and logistics system.

On this occasion, Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi hopes that the leaders of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and sectors of the province will actively support Japanese enterprises to feel secure in operating and investing in the province; the province will continue to improve the investment environment, reform administrative procedures, and create favorable conditions to attract enterprises in the coming time. Promote cooperation activities between Vietnam and Japan, as well as between An Giang and Japanese enterprises in the spirit of mutual benefit.

Receiving the working delegation, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, sent the best greetings to Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi and the members of the working delegation.

Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung affirmed that after 52 years of establishing diplomatic relations, especially after Vietnam and Japan upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two countries have achieved many encouraging results. An Giang is one of the localities with many cooperative relationships with Japanese partners, making practical contributions to tightening the friendly relationship between the two countries.

An Giang province alone has had cooperative relationships with Japanese enterprises in many fields, such as: Environment, water supply, wastewater treatment, agriculture, aquaculture, tourism, and health. The Japanese Consulate General annually introduces and facilitates agencies, departments, branches, and localities in the province to access non-refundable aid programs. To date, the province has approved and implemented 14 projects from this program, with activities: Providing medical equipment, agricultural supplies, building rural bridges, and schools.

Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung informed the working delegation about the province's potential strengths, socio-economic situation, investment environment, labor, employment, etc. At the same time, he expressed his desire to continue to coordinate with the Chief Representative of JETRO in Ho Chi Minh City to promote cooperation between An Giang province and Japan in investment fields with great potential.

An Giang province respectfully invites and will create all favorable conditions for interested Japanese organizations, businesses and partners to visit the province to learn more about the potential and investment opportunities; helping investors feel secure in doing business and doing business long-term in the province in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.

In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that JETRO will join and call on Japanese investors to participate in developing and replicating public leadership and private governance models in industrial parks in An Giang province in the coming time; pay attention to livelihood projects, social security, environment, healthcare, urban beautification, etc.
