Stocks surged in derivatives expiration session

During the derivatives expiration session, 20/30 stocks in the VN30 basket increased, pulling the VN-Index up nearly 9 points.

20/30 stocks in the VN30 basket increased in the derivatives expiration session on May 18.

The Vietnamese stock market on May 18 witnessed a derivatives expiry session with a fairly positive market performance. Normally, during derivatives expiry sessions, stocks in the VN30 basket often fluctuated strongly. In this trading session, in the afternoon, a large amount of money poured into the market, causing many Blue-chip stocks in the VN30-Index group to increase sharply, contributing to the VN-Index increasing by more than 10 points at times.

The VN30-Index group of stocks had up to 20 stocks increasing, including many stocks that increased strongly such as VHM increased by 3%,FPT increased by 1.7%, BCM increased by 1.3%, GAS increased by 1.2%... Especially in the group of securities stocks, in addition to large stocks such as VCI increased by 5.3%, FTS increased by 4.8%, BVS increased by 5.9%, SSI increased by 1.6%, HCM increased by 1.8%... small stocks also increased strongly such as: TVS increased by 3.8%, BSI and IVS increased by 3.3%, VDS increased by 2.7%... In addition, the banking group also maintained a good green color with VIB increased by 3.13%, VCB increased by 2.37%, TCB increased by 1.03%... In addition, the green color also spread to many industry groups such as oil and gas, electricity, gasoline, gas...

In this trading session, foreign investors also net bought nearly 135 billion VND on the two official exchanges, of which net bought more than 104 billion VND on the HoSE exchange.

At the end of the trading session, VN-Index increased by 7.87 points (0.74%) to 1,068.31 points with 205 stocks increasing in price, 162 stocks decreasing in price and 67 stocks remaining unchanged. At the end of the session at Hanoi Stock Exchange, HNX-Index also increased by 0.15 points (0.07%) to 213.01 points with 80 stocks increasing in price, 82 stocks decreasing in price and 69 stocks remaining unchanged. Market liquidity was quite good with the total transaction value on the two exchanges HOSE and HNX of nearly 13,200 billion VND.
