Development milestones

Despite many difficulties and other unfavorable factors, Que Son's economy still grew impressively in 2024. According to estimates, the total production value for the year is estimated to reach 10,894.6 billion VND, an increase of 12.09% compared to 2023.

Of which, the value of agriculture - forestry - fishery is estimated at 1,405.7 billion VND, up 3.86%; industry - handicrafts and construction is estimated at 6,328 billion VND, up 13.12%; trade - services is estimated at more than 3,160 billion VND, up 13.31%. Total state budget revenue in 2024 is estimated at 1,195 billion VND, exceeding 52.3% of the province's assigned estimate.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Vice Chairman of Que Son District People's Committee said that thanks to the economic recovery and the locality's active implementation of social security policies, people's lives have continued to improve over time.

In 2024, Que Son's per capita income will reach 53.11 million VND, an increase of 1.11 million VND compared to the resolution of the District People's Council. Last year, the whole district reduced 103 poor households compared to 2023, while the resolution of the District People's Council set out to reduce 50 poor households.

Determining that building a new rural area (NTM) has a starting point but no ending point, over the past time, the entire political system of Que Son has continued to effectively implement many tasks to create strong changes.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - Vice Chairman of Que Son District People's Committee, in addition to building Dong Phu and Huong An towns to meet 7/9 civilized urban criteria, an increase of 2 criteria compared to 2023, by the end of 2024, the average number of NTM criteria met by communes in the district will be 18.7 criteria/commune.

By the end of 2024, Que Son had 9/11 communes meeting the NTM commune standards, the remaining 2 communes Que Phong and Que Thuan are preparing documents to propose competent authorities to recognize NTM standards in 2024; 3 communes meeting advanced NTM standards are Que Xuan 1, Que Xuan 2, Que Hiep; Que Phu commune meeting the model NTM commune standards.

“Regarding the construction of the new rural district model, Que Son has so far achieved 6/9 criteria according to regulations, including: planning, irrigation and disaster prevention, electricity, economy, political system - security and order - public administration, quality of living environment. Along with that, implementing the OCOP program, the whole district currently has 25 products recognized as meeting 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards" - Mr. Chau said.

In 2025, Que Son district strives for the total production value of the entire economy to increase by 12% or more; of which, the value of agriculture - forestry - fishery increases by 3%, industry - handicrafts and construction increases by 13%, trade - services increase by 13%. Economic revenue increases by 7% or more compared to the plan assigned by the province. Total mobilized social investment capital accounts for 10% or more of the total production value. By the end of 2025, Que Son will meet the standards of a new rural district...

Create new breakthroughs

Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau said that in 2025, Que Son will focus on developing agriculture and rural areas in a sustainable direction; attracting businesses to invest in rural areas, especially in high-tech agriculture, linking along value chains, consuming products, and taking product output as a breakthrough.

Promote the development of livestock models in the direction of concentrated farms and households. Focus on developing forestry economy, effectively implementing afforestation projects and replicating effective garden and farm economic models.

For the new rural construction program, Que Son strives to maintain and improve the quality of achieved criteria, prioritizing resources to complete the new rural district criteria.

Focus on building infrastructure systems, closely connecting the construction of new rural areas with the urbanization process. Promote the implementation of the OCOP program, especially focusing on building brands, promoting product consumption and developing agricultural and rural tourism.

According to Mr. Chau, in the coming time, Que Son will strengthen the review of investment procedures according to new regulations to promptly guide and remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises; promote production and business, allocate resources to invest in infrastructure construction, especially in industrial clusters; strengthen planning and construction management; focus on linking vocational training with job creation and labor export; strengthen investment supervision, construction management, and bidding in the district.

Que Son will focus on thoroughly resolving problems in compensation and site clearance, speeding up the construction progress of key works and projects, ensuring timely completion. In particular, the locality will resolutely and synchronously implement solutions to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital; proactively and flexibly manage and operate budget revenue and expenditure, effectively practice thrift and combat waste...

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, along with economic development, the locality will focus on improving the quality of the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life; promoting socialization, paying attention to investing in building and perfecting grassroots cultural and sports institutions; effectively implementing and reaping many sweet fruits in the 2024-2025 school year; improving the capacity and operational efficiency of the grassroots health system and the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people.

"In 2025, Que Son district will strive to effectively implement policies and regimes for poor households, near-poor households, people with revolutionary contributions, and social protection beneficiaries according to regulations, ensuring that people's lives are increasingly prosperous and happy," said Mr. Thang.
