Many businesses of Polytechnic alumni enthusiastically supported such as MPE Company, Bien Dong Company, alumni of the Faculty of Electricity, alumni of the Faculty of Materials. Under the leadership of Coach Nguyen Van Tuan (Tuan "black") - a former famous player of Saigon Port, in the second participation in the TNSV THACO cup - 2024, the Polytechnic University football team topped the table, entered the play-off round but the players were not brave enough to overcome. However, Polytechnic University left a good impression in the hearts of the audience and the respect of the participating teams.

Immediately after this failure, BKA ( Phu Tho Polytechnic Alumni Community) headed by THACO Chairman Tran Ba ​​Duong, together with the Board of Directors of Polytechnic University, planned and implemented a school football program for Polytechnic students. The program was supported by BKA with a budget of nearly 1.7 billion VND/year to develop and spread the football movement among students, contributing to improving health so that students can study better. Every week on the Polytechnic University field, there are always about 60 male students and 20 female students who are passionate about football, regularly practicing under the guidance of professional coaches.

The qualifying round of the 2025 THACO Cup in Ho Chi Minh City was very harsh, with 28 teams participating, only 4 teams were selected for the final round. The University of Technology was in a group with very strong opponents, but the players of this university were still very determined. After their efforts, they had 4 consecutive wins. They won 7-0 against the University of Management and Technology, 1-0 against the University of Agriculture and Forestry, 3-0 against the University of Education, and in the match

In the play-off on the afternoon of January 14, the University of Science and Technology defeated Saigon University of Technology 2-0, advancing straight to the final round which will take place in March 2025.
