• Provincial Social Insurance: Promoting health insurance for students
  • Donated 50 health insurance cards to disadvantaged students in Long Dien Tay commune
  • Giving health insurance cards, scholarships and school supplies to disadvantaged students

According to the new regulations, students participating in health insurance will receive at least 50% of the premiums paid by the State, with the remainder paid by their parents. In addition, many localities have actively mobilized resources and called for the cooperation of organizations and philanthropists to support students in difficult circumstances. Thanks to that, the rate of health insurance coverage in schools is increasing, moving closer to the comprehensive goal.

Le Thi Song Lam, class 9A1, Tan Bang Secondary and High School (Bien Bach commune), shared: “Previously, the annual health insurance fee was also a concern for parents. Now the State supports up to 50% of the payment, the cost is reduced by half, so the burden on parents is much lighter. I myself am also assured because I have a health insurance card, if unfortunately I get sick or ill, I don’t have to worry too much about the cost of treatment .”

For students, this policy is even more practical. Le Phu Thuan, a first-year student in the Industrial Electricity 1 class at the Vietnam - Korea Vocational College in Ca Mau (An Xuyen ward), said: "Students have to worry about many expenses for food, accommodation, and study. A 50% reduction in health insurance fees helps us reduce pressure, and the money we save can be used for our studies. More importantly, this policy shows the State's concern, so that we students feel that we are always accompanied."

From the school's perspective, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong Trinh, Principal of Phan Ngoc Hien Primary School (An Xuyen Ward), commented: "The regulation to support at least 50% of the health insurance premium for students is a very timely and humane policy. Because currently, in many rural areas, family income is limited, without support policies, many students will find it difficult to fully participate in health insurance. In the 2025-2026 school year, the health insurance participation rate of school students will reach 100%, making it easier for the school to take care of and monitor the health of students."

In reality, health insurance is a solid support for families against health risks and incidents. Many cases of students who unfortunately contracted illnesses requiring long-term treatment have had the Health Insurance Fund cover most of the costs, helping their parents overcome difficulties. This further affirms the humane value of the policy of supporting at least 50% of health insurance premiums for students.

Besides the economic significance, school health insurance also has a profound educational significance. When participating in health insurance, students will have more awareness of taking care of their own health, sharing responsibility with the community, creating conditions for all children to have full and fair access to health services. At the same time, they will better understand the meaning of social security policies , which is the foundation for forming the habit of participating in health insurance in the future./.
