In addition to the Southeast Asian Cup C1, the two teams CAHN and Nam Dinh will also represent Vietnamese football in the Asian Cup C2 (AFC Champions League 2) season 2025-2026.
CAHN Club’s participation in the Southeast Asian Cup C1 next season opens up the opportunity for a reunion between this team and its arch-rival Buriram United (Thailand). These two teams faced each other in the final match last season.
As a result, Buriram United won on penalties, after the two sides drew 5-5 on aggregate after the first and second legs of the final.

Buriram United will participate in the Southeast Asian Cup 2024-2025 as the defending champions of this tournament. Thanks to the victory over CAHN Club in the Southeast Asian Cup 2024-2025, the Thai team set a new record in the Land of the Golden Temple: Winning 4 official titles in the same season.
These four titles include the Thai-League championship, the Thai FA Cup championship (Thai National Cup), the Thai-League Cup championship (Thai Football Federation Cup) and the Southeast Asian Cup C1 championship.
After CAHN Club and Buriram United were confirmed to participate in the tournament, they were immediately considered the top candidates for the championship of the 2025-2026 Southeast Asian Cup C1.
Buriram United has many famous Thai football players, including the former captain of the Thai national football team Theerathon Bunmathan.
The regional tournament next season will include 14 clubs, starting from the beginning of August this year and lasting until the end of May 2026.
