Masan shares benefit from consumer ecosystem strategy

(Chinhphu.vn) - Masan Group's MSN shares hit the ceiling in the session of August 11, reflecting investors' strong confidence in the "consumer ecosystem" strategy that is proving to be clearly effective. The price increase comes from the resonance of many factors: WinCommerce retail chain made a profit for the fourth consecutive quarter, record first-half business results, and especially the strategic move to consolidate control at The CrownX, paving the way for a future IPO plan.

Masan pursues a consumer-centric strategy

At the beginning of the session on August 11, shares of Masan Group Corporation (HOSE: MSN) increased to the ceiling price of VND 82,000/share, with a trading volume of more than 22.6 million shares, equivalent to VND 1,836 billion.

From the beginning of the year to the session on August 11, MSN stock price has increased by more than 17%, with average liquidity of over 6 million shares/day.

The increase was driven by a series of positive information, strengthening investors' confidence not only in MSN stocks but also in the essential consumer group: MCH (+2.35%), MML (+1.57%)...

Many experts say that the Government's continued extension of the VAT reduction policy is expected to stimulate domestic consumption, creating conditions for businesses in the consumer goods and retail industries such as Masan to directly benefit.

Besides, the economy is also on the way to recovery, people's income is gradually improving, leading to increased spending on consumer goods.

At the same time, the price of live pigs is likely to remain high because the supply has not fully recovered after the epidemic while consumer demand often increases sharply at the end of the year and during the Tet holiday. Therefore, large-scale livestock enterprises that apply safe biotechnology and have good disease control capabilities such as Masan MEATLife (MML) will have a competitive advantage and benefit if the selling price remains high.

In the first half of 2025, Masan Group recorded positive business results, affirming its position as one of the leading private economic groups in Vietnam.

After-tax profit in the first 6 months reached VND2,602 billion, nearly double that of the same period in 2024 and has completed more than 50% of the profit plan for the whole year. This growth comes from the outstanding performance of member companies, especially in the retail and essential consumer goods sectors.

WinCommerce continued to be a bright spot with second-quarter revenue reaching VND9,130 billion, up 16.4% year-on-year. Profit after tax reached VND10 billion, marking the fourth consecutive profitable quarter. In the first 6 months, WCM achieved revenue of VND17,915 billion, up 13.4%, and profit after tax reached VND68 billion, up VND292 billion year-on-year.

Thanks to same-store sales growth and operational efficiency, WCM's EBIT margin in the second quarter reached 0.9%, a big step forward showing that WCM is on track to achieve sustainable positive profits for the whole year.

In addition to positive business results, Masan also received additional supporting information when it officially increased its ownership ratio at The CrownX from 84.9% to 92.8%. This move is considered by analysts as an important stepping stone for the group to move towards the CrownX IPO - a plan that has been cherished since 2021.

With financial results exceeding expectations and a strategy to expand control in the consumer ecosystem, MSN is expected by investors to maintain its short-term growth momentum while creating a long-term growth foundation for Masan Group.

Applying modern technology to increase productivity and ensure output quality

Recently, at the Vietfood & Beverage - ProPack Vietnam 2025 event held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Masan attended the exhibition as the main sponsor.

At the booth area, the unit introduced many products from the brands Chin-Su, Nam Ngu, Omachi, Vinacafé. These are familiar brands associated with millions of Vietnamese households.

Along with that, Masan also brings products from the WinEco brand - a unit specializing in providing agricultural products meeting VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards for domestic and foreign consumers. With the goal of promoting the development of clean agriculture, WinEco is applying modern technology to increase productivity and ensure output quality.

Masan pursues a consumer-centric strategy with the long-term orientation of "Make Vietnamese foods global foods" - bringing Vietnamese cuisine and products to the world. In particular, the Nam Ngu fish sauce brand is currently distributed in markets such as the US, Japan, Australia, Russia, Taiwan (China), China... and recently the Costco supermarket chain in Korea.

The business representative said that this is considered a step forward showing the global competitiveness of Vietnamese products, not only in terms of quality but also in terms of sustainable development standards.

"We are constantly innovating to better serve 100 million Vietnamese consumers, making efforts to promote Vietnamese cuisine to the world to serve 8 billion global consumers," said a Masan representative.

Vietfood & Propack 2025 is an opportunity for Masan to demonstrate its commitment to accompany the development of the Vietnamese food - beverage and agriculture industry in a safe and sustainable direction. The unit participating in the event aims to widely promote its image and leading products to domestic and foreign consumers and businesses, promoting the strategy "Make Vietnamese Foods Global Foods".

Vietfood & Beverage - Propack Vietnam 2025 has a scale of 1,400 booths with the participation of 1,000 enterprises from 20 countries and territories. The event opens up opportunities to promote investment and strengthen sustainable trade cooperation.

Masan Group aims to provide essential products and services at reasonable costs to Vietnamese and global consumers. To do this, the company focuses on improving productivity, applying technology, building strong brands and seizing opportunities related to daily needs.

Masan and its subsidiaries operate in a variety of high-growth sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods, processed meat, retail, food and beverage chains, financial services, telecommunications, and value-added industrial materials.
