The program was attended by Mr. Le Viet Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Government Electronic Information Portal ( Government Office ) and Mr. Nguyen Phuong Son - Director of External Relations of Amway Vietnam. This is not only a gift-giving activity but also a deep companionship and sharing of agencies and businesses with people in flood-affected areas in the most difficult time.

In September, four consecutive storms affected our country. Of these, storm No. 10 was strong and lasted a long time on land; the storm's circulation caused heavy rain, flash floods, and widespread flooding; water levels in many rivers exceeded alert level 3, in some places exceeding historical flood levels.
This is a serious and widespread natural disaster, occurring almost simultaneously with especially dangerous types of natural disasters such as strong storms; large and extremely large floods; inundation; flash floods; landslides; severely impacting economic and social activities, infrastructure institutions from the sea to the delta, midlands, and mountains, causing heavy damage to people, property, and infrastructure in localities in the Northern and North Central regions.
Faced with the complex developments of natural disasters, direction has been deployed decisively, early, remotely, regularly, continuously and directly. General Secretary To Lam, the Standing Secretary of the Secretariat and the Prime Minister have issued many documents directing, visiting and encouraging localities and people in affected areas, and at the same time requesting the deployment of response measures with the highest spirit.
Notably, the Prime Minister issued nine urgent dispatches, continuously directing ministries, branches, central and local agencies to focus on responding to the storm, and at the same time established working groups directly led by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers to inspect, urge, and direct response and overcoming of consequences in localities.
Thanks to the early implementation of the "4 on-the-spot" policy and the maximum mobilization of on-site forces, on-site means, on-site logistics and on-site command, many localities have been more proactive in natural disaster prevention, thereby partly minimizing damage. However, the devastation caused by storm No. 10 and floods is still very large.
In Thanh Hoa, strong gusts of wind of level 12-13 combined with prolonged heavy rains caused serious flooding, landslides and flash floods, destroying the transportation system and infrastructure, severely affecting people's lives. Mr. Ngo The Anh, member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thanh Hoa province, said that nearly 19,000 houses in the area were flooded. As of 4:00 p.m. on October 2, 122 communes and wards had proactively evacuated 14,182 households with 51,379 people from the danger zone, of which 2,738 households lived within 200m of the water's edge. When the situation gradually stabilized, 5,222 households with 19,031 people had returned to clean up and restore normal activities.
Meanwhile, in Nghe An, in just over two months, the locality has suffered three major storms in a row. In particular, storm No. 10 with wind gusts of level 15 caused serious damage in Thai Hoa town. The water level of Hieu River rose to an unprecedented high, submerging a series of residential areas, industrial parks and factories, seriously damaging the traffic infrastructure system. Mr. Chu Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Chairman of Thai Hoa Ward People's Council, said: "In the past 50 years, the locality has never witnessed such a big flood." In Thai Hoa ward alone, about 1,050 out of 6,240 households were deeply submerged in floodwaters.
Meaningful gifts sent to flood areas
In that context, with the support of the Government Electronic Newspaper, Amway Vietnam Company decided to support a total of 600 million VND to Thanh Hoa province and Thai Hoa ward (Nghe An). In which, each locality received 200 million VND in cash and 100 million VND in kind.
The donated products include multi-purpose detergents and concentrated hand soaps that apply advanced technology and are safe for health, making an important contribution to environmental sanitation, disease prevention, and ensuring people's health after storms and floods.
Presenting these gifts, Mr. Le Viet Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Government Electronic Information Portal shared: "Although the gifts are not large in material terms, they contain deep sentiments and spiritual meanings, aiming to contribute to timely sharing difficulties with localities heavily affected by storm No. 10. We believe that with the efforts of local Party committees and authorities, the spirit of solidarity of people in flood-affected areas and the joint support of the community, the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters will soon be completed, helping people quickly stabilize their lives."

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Son, Director of External Relations of Amway Vietnam, said that in nearly 20 years of operation in Vietnam, besides business development, Amway has always focused on social activities and shared responsibility with the community. The gifts, though small, show the joint contributions of agencies, businesses and communities to localities affected by natural disasters, helping people to rebuild their lives soon.
This is not the first time the Government Portal, the Government E-newspaper and Amway Vietnam have accompanied people in disaster areas. In 2020, in order to contribute to the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic in Lang Son, the Government E-newspaper coordinated with Amway Vietnam Co., Ltd. to organize the donation of gifts in kind with a total value of 600 million VND, directly supporting medical staff, soldiers as well as local people.
In 2022, the Government Portal, the Government E-newspaper and Amway presented gifts to people in flooded areas in Da Nang. A support package worth 1 billion VND, including 300 million VND in cash and 700 million VND in kind, was given to people severely affected by the floods in October 2022 in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city.
In 2024, in Thai Nguyen, the Government Portal, the Government Electronic Newspaper and Amway Vietnam Company awarded 450 million VND in support, including 200 million VND and 250 million VND in kind to help Thai Nguyen City overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
These actions not only demonstrate social responsibility but also spread the spirit of sharing and accompanying people to overcome difficulties and losses after natural disasters.
Expressing his emotion at the delegation’s generosity, Mr. Chu Anh Tuan – Party Secretary, Chairman of the People’s Council of Thai Hoa Ward – said that the gifts not only have material value but also contain the sentiments, trust and companionship of the community for the people in the flood-affected areas. These acts of kindness will give people more strength to overcome challenges and firmly rebuild their lives after the storm.
Currently, Thanh Hoa and Thai Hoa ward (Nghe An) are focusing on overcoming the consequences of floods, from cleaning up the environment, restoring infrastructure to stabilizing people's lives. Therefore, the timely support from the Government Electronic Newspaper and Amway Vietnam is extremely practical and valuable. Thanh Hoa and Thai Hoa ward (Nghe An) are committed to using and allocating support resources in the most effective and reasonable way to soon bring a stable and peaceful life to people in the flood area.
