Can Tho Police help students avoid negativity on cyberspace

On May 22, the Internal Political Security Department, Can Tho City Police and Nam Can Tho University signed a plan to coordinate in building a typical advanced unit in the movement of the whole people to protect national security and launched the model of "Propaganda, dissemination and education of law on cyberspace for students of Nam Can Tho University".

The two sides have committed to implementing 3 groups of targets with 14 criteria to build Nam Can Tho University into a typical advanced unit in the movement of the whole people to protect national security.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Phuc, Head of Internal Political Security Department, Can Tho City Police and Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Principal of Can Tho University, represented the signing of the cooperation contents.

The model of "propaganda, dissemination and legal education on cyberspace for students of Nam Can Tho University" will be implemented in 2 years (May 2024 - December 2025). 100% of students will receive legal advice and support according to the provisions of the Youth Law and the Legal Aid Law. Establish a Fanpage to propagate the law for students and a hotline number, channels to receive information and feedback from students related to security and order...

According to Colonel Vu Thanh Thuc, Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police, the internet and social networks have truly become an inevitable trend of society. Besides the positive benefits, cyberspace with its "virtual" characteristics, easy anonymity, and fast spread has become a favorable environment for spreading fake news, bad and toxic information. Many subjects take advantage of this to lure students to participate in protests, gatherings to disturb public order, participating in illegal religious activities, and property fraud. Therefore, providing information to propagate, disseminate, and educate students about cyberspace law is an extremely important task of schools, families, and the whole society.
