Students participating in the 2022 6th grade survey at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that students registering for grade 6 admission to Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted will take a test on abilities such as: language (English, Vietnamese - writing); mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences , social sciences (history - geography); common sense of life.
According to Mr. Hieu, the competency test (90 minutes) includes multiple choice and essay sections. In the multiple choice section, candidates will take 20 multiple choice questions in English about their understanding of natural sciences, social sciences and common life knowledge within 30 minutes.
Essay section, candidates do within 60 minutes, includes the following contents:
- English proficiency test: listening, reading, writing.
- Assessment of mathematical and logical thinking ability, reading comprehension and writing ability. Students will complete this test in Vietnamese.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training also requested the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and districts, and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted to widely inform parents and students.
In Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted is the only school that recruits 6th grade students by testing their foreign language proficiency.
Normally, every year, about 4,000 students register for the entrance exam and the quota is 525 students. In fact, the competition rate for admission to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted is approximately 1/8.
It is expected that on May 15, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the time and form of registration for admission to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted.
