Party building work in the border area of Lam Dong province...

Lam Dong province shares a border with Mondulkiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia. After the merger, the border area has five communes: Quang Truc, Tuy Duc, Thuan Hanh, Thuan An and Dak Wil. In the new period, the communes have identified developing party members as a strategic task; improving the quality of party cell activities is a decisive factor.

Focus on developing party members

Dak Wil Commune Party Committee currently has 51 affiliated party organizations, with 808 party members, of which 394 are ethnic minorities. In the 2020-2025 period, the Party Committee admitted 81 party members. At the 1st Congress of Delegates, term 2025-2030, the Commune Party Committee set the following targets: Annually, the rate of admitting party members reaches 3% or more; 90% of affiliated grassroots party organizations complete their tasks well or better; 80% of party members complete their tasks well or better; the rate of women participating in the Party Committee during the term reaches more than 15%...

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Wil Commune Hoang Van Tam said that the Party Committee's choice of the target of developing Party members at 3%/year is a big challenge. However, based on the results achieved in the past term, the Party Committee determined that this is also a driving force for the entire political system to strive. On that basis, the Party Committee clearly assigned responsibilities to each Party cell, each cadre and Party member, especially the Youth Union organization, to create sources, train and develop Party members, gradually build a strong Party organization in all aspects, especially at the Party cell level; improve the leadership capacity, fighting strength and exemplary responsibility of cadres and Party members; build a streamlined, effective and efficient political system and grassroots government.

Developing party members, especially ethnic minority party members, is always considered a strategic task by the Party Committee of Quang Truc border commune. In the period of 2020-2025, the Party Committee of the commune developed 39 party members, bringing the total number of party members to 373 comrades, of which 32.7% are ethnic minority party members. Party Secretary Duong Huy Toan said that the work of developing the party, especially party members in ethnic minority areas, still faces many difficulties. However, the Party Committee is still determined to fulfill the annual target of admitting 3-4% of the total number of party members of the entire Party Committee. To successfully implement this, the Party Committee has proposed many synchronous solutions in creating sources, at the same time, the Party Committee must be close to the grassroots, provide enthusiastic support, create an environment to encourage the masses... thereby discovering, nurturing, and admitting them to the Party.

Improve the quality of Party cell activities

To assess the quality of grassroots party organizations, the Thuan An Commune Party Committee has deployed the models of "4-good Party Cells" and "4-good Party Committees", and at the same time assigned Party Committees to attend and directly participate in activities at the Party Cells, thereby increasing discipline, Party spirit, and improving the education and fighting strength of Party members and Party organizations in each activity.

The Quang Truc border commune Party Committee also requested its subordinate Party cells to seriously implement the 4th Central Resolutions of the 11th, 12th, and 13th terms on Party building and rectification in conjunction with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle. Activities must be ensured according to requirements and regulations, especially mobilizing collective intelligence in building and promulgating resolutions. In addition, Party members in Party cells and higher-level Party committees must also closely monitor, care for, and provide timely guidance, especially Party cells in areas with a large number of ethnic minorities, to guide and gradually improve the quality of Party cell activities.

In the 2020-2025 period, border posts on the border line assigned 59 party members to participate in activities at 55 village and hamlet party cells, contributing to building a strong grassroots political system. According to the assessment of the Party Committees of border communes, this has helped grassroots party cells to have more fighting power, strengthen people's trust in the Party, and at the same time create a solid position of people's hearts on the fence of the Fatherland.

At the 1st Congress of the Quang Truc Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Luu Van Trung requested to strengthen the building of a clean and strong Party and political system, ensuring the comprehensive leadership of the Party in all activities. He suggested that the Quang Truc border commune Party Committee should improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations in association with building a team of cadres and party members with bright minds, high talents, great intelligence, close to the people, and responsible to serve the people.

Speaking at the 1st Congress of Thuan Hanh Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030, comrade Luu Van Trung emphasized the need to strengthen the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong; linking the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle with the Party's inspection, supervision and discipline work, consolidating people's trust in the Party organization.

Currently, the Party members in border communes have become the core force, pioneering in the movement of economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, border protection, border markers and maintaining security and order.
