Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department dialogues with businesses in 2024

On the morning of April 16, Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department organized a 2024 customs-business dialogue conference to disseminate a number of policies and laws and answer questions related to customs management in the area.

Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Cao Son, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Ha Nam and Nam Dinh provinces; a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors and representatives of more than 150 enterprises operating in the field of import and export in 3 provinces: Ninh Binh, Ha Nam and Nam Dinh.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son said: In recent times, implementing the policy of "Government accompanies, connects, and shares" with the business community, Ninh Binh province regularly organizes specialized conferences such as: Dialogue conference with businesses, Meeting conference with foreign-invested enterprises (FDI), Conference to remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses in industrial parks and clusters...

At the same time, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee periodically organize monthly meetings with businesses to discuss, clarify and gradually resolve and remove recommendations and proposals from businesses... He also acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions of the Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department to the local socio-economic development.

In the context of many difficulties and challenges, Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department always strives to overcome difficulties, actively mobilizes and attracts businesses to carry out customs procedures in the management area: in 2023, it will increase by 8.9%; the value of imported and exported goods will increase by 11.6%; the total number of declarations will increase by 10.05% compared to 2022.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son emphasized: The conference aims to disseminate new customs policies; at the same time, it is also an opportunity for the government and state management agencies to listen to the opinions of businesses, especially difficulties and problems, thereby promptly providing guidance, answers or proposing to competent authorities to perfect appropriate mechanisms and policies. Therefore, he requested and hoped that businesses would boldly and frankly raise their thoughts, wishes, difficulties and problems related to customs work.

Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department answered frankly and directly the difficulties and recommendations of enterprises. At the same time, in the coming time, it will continue to promote administrative reform, strongly apply information technology in handling work, regularly disseminate and propagate laws, and provide specific instructions on regulations, policies, and customs procedures for the business community. Implementing well the partnership between customs and enterprises as well as customs and related departments, branches and sectors will help customs activities of the 3 provinces to develop more and more.

He also requested departments, branches and sectors to coordinate with customs agencies to connect information from businesses to continue attracting FDI enterprises to invest, increase import and export activities, contribute to increasing budget revenue, creating jobs and developing the socio-economy in the area.

He affirmed that the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province is always committed to creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest in production and business development as well as to carry out customs procedures conveniently and safely.

At the conference, the Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department recommended businesses some common mistakes when carrying out customs procedures. At the same time, it discussed and answered many issues that businesses are concerned about related to choosing to use customs declaration and clearance services; overcoming common risks when declaring wrong names of exporters and importers; declaring wrong types of goods; importing goods that do not meet tax exemption conditions; regulations on notification of reprocessing part of the production and export process...

Through dialogue, the cooperation between customs authorities and the business community has become more and more substantial, not just training, answering questions and making recommendations, but customs authorities have consulted and accompanied businesses in the policy-making process. Customs authorities increasingly consider businesses as partners, accompanying them to better complete their tasks, with high consensus, creating voluntary compliance with customs laws in particular and laws in general.
