Former Google CEO and 1,000 experts are coming to Vietnam to discuss AI and semiconductors.

(Dan Tri) - The AISC 2025 Conference brings together about 1,000 experts, scientists, AI and semiconductor businesses to promote cooperation, knowledge exchange and technology development orientation in Vietnam and the region.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment , the International Conference on "Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors 2025" (AISC 2025) will be held from March 12 to March 16 in Hanoi and Da Nang. The above information was shared by him at a press conference to announce the event. The press conference took place this afternoon (February 24) in Hanoi.

According to the leader of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the AISC 2025 conference was held under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Eric Schmidt - former CEO of Google Corporation.

"This is an important event gathering about 1,000 experts, scientists , and influential businesses in the world in the fields of AI and semiconductors to promote cooperation, knowledge exchange, and technology development orientation in Vietnam and the region," Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam shared.

This expert comes from Google DeepMind, IBM, Intel, TSMC, Samsung, MediaTek, Tokyo Electron, Panasonic, Qorvo, Marvell and many other leading technology corporations from Silicon Valley.

The conference will focus on discussing the development trends and applications of AI and semiconductor technology in the digital economy , creating opportunities for connection between research institutes, technology enterprises and management agencies to promote investment and international cooperation, and sharing experiences, strategies and policies to build a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt will discuss economic development strategies in the AI ​​era, exploring the opportunities and challenges of global technological advancement.

Dr. Christopher Nguyen, founder of Aitomatic from Silicon Valley, will introduce AI breakthroughs in automating complex manufacturing decisions.

Dr. Le Viet Quoc, a distinguished scientist at Google DeepMind, was awarded the prestigious NeurIPS Test of Time award for his revolutionary contributions to the field of artificial intelligence.

AlphaChip's two co-creators - Dr. Anna Goldie from Google DeepMind and Dr. Azalia Mirhoseini from Stanford University - will share breakthroughs in AI-driven chip design from concept to production.

Ms. Nguyen Bich Yen, Senior Fellow at Soitec, recipient of the prestigious Dan Noble Fellow award and holder of 200 patents worldwide.

Loi Nguyen, Senior Vice President at Marvell, will discuss opportunities for Vietnam to participate in the global semiconductor supply chain. Leaders from Intel, IBM Research, Tata Electronics, and Honeywell will discuss practical AI implementation in manufacturing.

According to Bloomberg Intelligence , the global semiconductor market will reach $500 billion by the end of 2024, with AI driving the digital economy. The breakthrough of DeepSeek-R1, an open-source AI model that achieves comparable performance with only one-third of the computing power of leading models, has created a wave of transformation in the $1.2 trillion market and fueled the urgent need for efficient computing solutions.

According to a recent McKinsey report, the integration of AI into chip design and manufacturing is attracting huge investments, reshaping the entire industry through.

Faced with this explosive trend, Vietnam takes advantage of this opportunity with policies to attract investment and support human resource training, including subsidies for chip and AI production costs. The government focuses on systematic training in AI and semiconductors, grants scholarships, and reduces tuition fees for semiconductor students, contributing to improving the quality of human resources.
