“On September 16, 2025, after a period of working and discussing, Hanoi Football Club decided to part ways with coach Makoto Teguramori. Hanoi Football Club acknowledges and sends sincere thanks to coach Makoto Teguramori for his efforts and dedication during his time with the capital team,” Hanoi Football Club announced.
Coach Makoto Teguramori's resignation did not surprise many people when Hanoi FC had a very poor performance at the beginning of the 2025-2026 season. The Capital team only won 1 point after 3 matches, ranking second to last in the V-League rankings.

In the 2025-2026 National Cup, Hanoi FC was eliminated in the first round after a 0-1 defeat to The Cong Viettel at Hang Day Stadium. This was the last straw that made the capital team and coach Makoto Teguramori say goodbye.
After parting ways with the Japanese coach, Hanoi FC chose Mr. Yusuke Adachi - Technical Director, to temporarily lead the team to prepare for round 4 of V-League taking place this weekend.
Mr. Yusuke Adachi, born in 1961, is a Japanese expert, highly regarded for his expertise, has a lot of coaching experience, understands Vietnamese football and has started working with the capital team since June.
Coach Makoto Teguramori, born in 1967, led the Japanese U23 team to the 2016 Asian Championship and a ticket to the Rio Olympics. After signing a contract with the Hanoi Club in February 2025, he helped the capital team finish as runner-up in the 2024-2025 V-League.
Although he was highly expected to conquer the V-League and National Cup championships with Hanoi FC, what is happening has forced the Japanese coach to leave the "hot seat".
