A variety of activities for children

The "young soldiers" participated in the "Military Semester" program organized by the Provincial Youth Union.

When the chirping of cicadas signals the arrival of summer, it is also the time for children to temporarily leave their books to enjoy days of rest and fun. Faced with the choice of participating in summer activities for children, Ms. Le Thi Quynh, Hac Thanh ward, decided to let her child participate in the "Military Semester" program organized by the Provincial Youth Union. Ms. Quynh shared: "I chose to let my child participate in the "Military Semester" program because I see that this is not only a prestigious address, a useful playground, but also creates a healthy, attractive and effective educational environment for children and teenagers. By participating in the program, children experience and are equipped with valuable lessons about discipline, self-awareness, independence, honesty, courage, creativity, sharing and the will to rise up in life through morning physical education lessons; physical games; forums to build awareness and personality; cultural exchange activities, sports activities, outdoor marches...".

Not only Ms. Quynh, but also many parents share that children do not necessarily need to study a lot of cultural subjects during the summer. Instead, it is important to focus on physical safety, soft skills development and emotional balance.

In response to parents' concerns, in recent years, together with all levels and sectors, the Youth Union in the province has continued to have many solutions to care for and protect children, especially during the summer. Accordingly, since the beginning of the summer, the Youth Union at all levels has organized many programs and classes for youth and children with many rich activities, stimulating creativity. In addition to the models that have been maintained for many years such as military semesters, youth and children's summer camps, career guidance playgrounds... in many localities, classes to improve skills and prevent accidents for children have been effectively implemented. Notably, in Tho Xuan commune, the Youth Union has coordinated to organize a propaganda program to raise awareness about the benefits and harms of using social networks; preventing the harmful effects of stimulants and addictive substances for students, youth and adolescents. In Quan Son commune, the Youth Union coordinated to open a class on "Drowning prevention skills education" in 2025 for teenagers... Through the course, the children are provided with knowledge and skills on swimming, safe swimming, and recognizing dangers in the water environment. During the learning process, children are equipped with basic swimming knowledge and skills, such as: breathing exercises, floating underwater, breaststroke techniques, first aid methods for victims, and how to handle dangerous situations in the water.

According to the Provincial Youth Union, this year, the organization of summer activities for children is organized with many diverse activities, ensuring practicality, effectiveness and safety. The time to organize summer activities is from May 31 to August 31, with the goal of promoting the role of youth union bases, youth union officials, youth union members and youth in organizing volunteer activities associated with organizing summer activities for children in residential areas. In particular, it is worth noting to promote communication, warnings and guidance for children to use smart technology devices appropriately, serving healthy learning and entertainment. Organize Youth Union meetings, propagate and educate about revolutionary traditions, the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repay gratitude" with meaningful actions. Build reading habits, develop reading culture, implement experiential programs...

In addition, the Youth Union and Teams of wards and communes coordinate with schools and educational institutions to hand over, receive and manage children living at home and in residential areas. Mobilize resources to build and renovate living and entertainment areas for children. At the same time, support and help children from poor families, families of meritorious people, and children in especially difficult circumstances, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to study and develop comprehensively.
