Congress of the Association of Vietnamese Artists of Gia Lai province for the 2024-2029 term

(NADS) - On December 6, in Pleiku city, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Gia Lai province held its 5th Congress, term 2024-2029.

Attending the Congress were Artist Tran Phong, Standing Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Art Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Writer Ngo Thanh Van, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Province Association of Photographic Artists and all members of the Association.

The Gia Lai Province NSNA Association was established on March 10, 2005. Up to now, it has held 5 congresses. Currently, the Association has 13 members. During the term, in 2023, a member transferred to the Dak Lak Province NSNA Association and at the end of 2023, the Association admitted 1 new member.

The Congress contributed opinions to the Summary Report of the Branch's activities for the 2014-2019 term and the direction of activities for the 2024-2029 term and the review of the Branch's Executive Committee for the 2019-2024 term.

Artist Tran Phong, Standing Committee Member of Vietnam Association of Artists, delivered a speech directing the Congress.

During the past term, the Association's photographers participated in the following photography camps organized and coordinated by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists: Da Lat Photography Camp, Dien Luc Photography Camp in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Nha Trang Photography Camp, Cam Ranh Photography Camp.

Participate in 5 regional exhibitions organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in provinces and cities such as: Da Nang in 2020, Dak Lak in 2021, Kon Tum in 2022, Quang Ngai in 2023, Da Nang in 2024. Participate in national Art Photography competitions and exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism every two years, international Art Photography competitions and exhibitions in Vietnam organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists such as VN21, VN23. In addition, participate in the national Art Photography Competition "Proud of a border strip"; National Art Photography Competition about the Homeland's Sea and Islands and many other competitions.

Since the beginning of the term, the Association has won 283 domestic and international awards (from regional level and above). Typical are the artists who have won many awards such as: Artist Tran Phong: 116 awards, Artist Nguyen Ngoc Son 55 awards, Artist Pham Duc 28 awards, Artist Tran Van Hung 22 awards...

Delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee for the new term.

The association has 2 photographers who have achieved the title E.VAPA/G, including 1 photographer who is ES.VAPA. In 2024, 2 members were awarded the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Photography by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

The association also has many artists participating in international art photography competitions, winning many gold, silver, bronze medals, honorary certificates and exhibition photos; through which the artists have achieved FIAP and PSA titles such as: One artist received E.FIAP/d3 and GMPSA, one E.FIAP/s artist, one E.FIAP artist, one A.FIAP artist.

In 2022 and 2024, the Association was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for its outstanding achievements in the photography movement.

Leaders of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the Gia Lai Province Association of Photographic Artists presented flowers to congratulate the Executive Committee of the new term.

The Congress elected 5 NSNA as official delegates to the Congress of Vietnam Association of Artists for the 2025-2030 term, including 1 ex-officio delegate.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Branch consisting of 3 members, NSNA Nguyen Ngoc Son as Branch Head, and two NSNA Nguyen Van Thanh and Tran Quang Hong as Branch Vice Heads.
