Specifically, fishing boat BD 97258 TS, owned and captained by Mr. Huynh Van Son (44 years old, residing in Hoai Nhon Dong ward, Gia Lai ), along with 7 other fishermen, lost contact with the mainland. The boat departed on September 12 from Ca Na Border Control Station (Khanh Hoa) to fish for tuna.
At 8:13 p.m. on September 27, when the ship was operating 147 nautical miles southeast of Quy Nhon, it suddenly lost its tracking signal and could not contact its family. Upon receiving the information, Gia Lai Border Guard mobilized four fishing vessels operating near the suspected location to coordinate the search. However, by the morning of September 29, there were still no results.
In another development, Gia Lai Border Guard also received a notice from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center of Region IV about the case of fishing boat BD 96732 TS, owned and captained by Mr. Ngo Trai (resident of Hoai Nhon Dong ward), with 10 crew members, stranded in the reef area of Nam Yet island cluster (Truong Sa archipelago).
The ship departed on September 8 from Ba Ngoi Border Control Station ( Khanh Hoa ), fishing with purse seine nets.
All 11 fishermen are currently safe and in stable health. It is expected that on the night of September 29, when the tide is high, a fishing vessel operating near the area will assist in towing the vehicle away from the shoal.
