On the morning of October 25, in Ha Long City, the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress of Exemplary Veterans (2024-2029) took place. Attending the congress on behalf of the Central Veterans Association was Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association . On the provincial side, there was Comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
Thoroughly grasping and implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans", in the past 5 years, the Associations at all levels and Veterans Association members have firmly grasped the direction from above, the political tasks of the Association and the locality, and have concretized the objectives of the emulation movement into practical and effective activities, strongly changing the thinking and actions of each member.
Many tasks have been completed excellently, the cadres and members are steadfast in political mettle, exemplary in political qualities, exemplary in moral qualities and lifestyle, building and maintaining the ideological position of trust in the Party; actively participating in building and protecting the Party, protecting the government, protecting the people, protecting the socialist regime, promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.
Notable activities include economic development, participation in the prevention of Covid-19, coordination in ensuring security and order in the area, environmental protection, lighting up rural roads, contributing to funds associated with the good implementation of emulation movements and campaigns of the Central and local levels, actively donating land and labor to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, and promoting gratitude activities.
On behalf of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association, highly appreciated the patriotic emulation movement results of the Quang Ninh Provincial Veterans Association achieved in the past 5 years. He emphasized that along with the process of building and developing the Association, the patriotic emulation movements, the core of which is the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement of the Provincial Veterans Association, have closely followed political tasks; been sensitive and timely in meeting the practical requirements of life.
After 5 years of implementation, the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" of the provincial War Veterans Association has become a driving force to encourage cadres and members to continue promoting the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", always being exemplary in carrying out the tasks of building and protecting the Party, the government, and the regime.
Speaking at the congress, comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, acknowledged and commended the results achieved in the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" of the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province.
He requested that in the coming time, the provincial Veterans Association at all levels continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the directive documents of the Central and the province. Focus on propagating the outstanding achievements in building and developing Quang Ninh province into a model, rich, civilized and modern province, especially since the beginning of the term of the 15th Congress of the Provincial Party Committee.
In addition, it is necessary to promote the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the tradition of "Loyalty - Solidarity - Exemplary - Innovation"; to do well the political and ideological education for cadres and members to have a firm political stance, be steadfast in the Party's goals and ideals, be exemplary in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; to resolutely fight against and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints, and firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation.
Closely coordinate with the government, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to effectively implement democracy at the grassroots level and the regulations on mass mobilization work of the political system; protect the legitimate rights and interests of members and people. At the same time, consolidate, develop, and maintain the effective operation of the production and business models of the Veterans Association. Actively promote the role of a bridge to transmit good values between generations, contributing to consolidating the system of cultural values and people of Quang Ninh; improve the quality of education on patriotic traditions, revolutionary heroism, and self-reliance for the young generation.
Promote widespread propaganda for members and all classes of people to effectively implement the "Code of Conduct in Quang Ninh province", build "Model cultural villages, hamlets, and residential areas"; build prosperous, progressive, happy, civilized families, replicate typical cultural family models, contribute to making the 6 core local values and 8 core values of Quang Ninh people permeate daily life. Innovate and improve the quality of the emulation movement "Exemplary veterans" associated with patriotic emulation movements and campaigns.
At the congress, delegates voted to elect a delegation to attend the 7th National Patriotic Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans", period 2024 - 2029. On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister; the Provincial Veterans Association received the Flag of Excellent Emulation Unit for the period 2019-2024 from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association; many collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Provincial People's Committee.
