Canadian Ambassador visits Nhat Tan, the land of peach blossoms, excitedly celebrating Vietnamese New Year

Ambassador Shawn Steil and his wife experienced the feeling of buying peach blossoms in the garden for the first time and expressed their belief in an even brighter future between the two countries, after the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

In the cold weather of the last month of the 2023 lunar year, Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Shawn Steil and his wife visited Dao Nhat Tan garden in Tay Ho district, Hanoi .

With the support of embassy staff, he chose a branch with many buds and sawed it himself, bringing it home to enjoy before Tet. The Peach branch has a round canopy and is expected to bloom a lot of flowers. This is the second time the ambassador has celebrated Vietnamese Tet and the first time he has experienced buying Peach blossoms. The atmosphere these days makes the ambassador and his wife feel very excited.

The year 2023 also marked the half-century anniversary of Vietnam-Canada diplomatic relations. With the achievements in the fields of politics , diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, culture, education-training, tourism, etc., the two countries are ready to continue to cooperate more deeply in 2024 and beyond.
