Dak Nong repairs canals in key food areas

Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen has just signed a decision approving the plan to select a contractor to repair damaged two irrigation canals along the Krong No River.

Of which, the project to repair damaged canals in the Dak Ren pumping station system has a total investment cost of nearly 1,013 billion VND.

The project to repair damaged canals in the Buôn Choáh pumping station system has a total investment cost of more than 887 million VND.

The funding for the two projects is taken from the 2023 central budget reserve. Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited was assigned as the investor.

Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee assigned the investor to organize the selection of approved contractors, publicly, transparently, ensuring the quality of the project... The Department of Planning and Investment is responsible for the accuracy and legality of the appraisal and approval contents.

Dak Ren pumping station system, Nam N'Dir commune with many pumping stations and irrigation canals, providing irrigation water for many crop areas along the Krong No river.

Contractors will be selected for these two projects in October - November 2024. The implementation time for each package is 40 days.

The Dak Ren pumping station system in Nam N'Dir commune and the Buon Choah pumping station system in Buon Choah commune are two large pumping station systems along the Krong No river. These systems provide irrigation water for thousands of hectares of riverside crops and the key food region of Krong No.

Over time, many sections of the canal system have been damaged and degraded. Partly due to long-term investment, partly due to the impact of erosion on the banks of the Krong No River.
