Born in 1983, the year of the Pig, businessman Le Manh Cuong (Zone 6, Dong Trung Commune, Thanh Thuy District) comes from a farming family. Perhaps that is why, since childhood, Cuong has been passionate about farming, the smell of straw and grass has fueled his dream of getting rich on his own land.
“At that time, my family was in a difficult situation. I was both studying and the main breadwinner in the family. Later, my passion for farming inspired me to start a business in the agricultural economy ,” Cuong shared.

Recalling the early days of starting a business, he said: "For young people when starting out in agriculture , especially large-scale agriculture, they will encounter many difficulties due to lack of capital, experience and support."
In 2006, after graduating from university, Mr. Cuong was recruited as a lecturer at the Central College of Transport I. With a hard-working nature since childhood, in addition to his job as a lecturer, Mr. Cuong worked as a technician for construction companies with the desire to save money to buy land and invest in agriculture.
After 3 years of working as a lecturer and doing part-time jobs, Mr. Cuong saved up some money to buy 2 hectares of agricultural land in Tien Phong commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi . In 2011, when he returned to Thanh Thuy district, seeing the abundant hill and forest land here, Cuong came up with the idea of buying back barren hill areas to build an agricultural farm model. With his own determination and efforts, in 2015, Mr. Cuong bought 18.6 hectares of forest land in Trung Nghia commune (now Dong Trung commune) with 2.3 billion VND to start investing in building a comprehensive farm model with a total cost of over 30 billion VND in February 2016.
From capital mobilized from brothers, friends and bank loans, after the struggles and difficulties in the first years of establishment. Currently, his farm is raising 600 breeding sows; planting 5 hectares of timber trees combined with growing 5 hectares of grapefruit, 2 hectares of fish farming; 3,500 spiny soft-shell turtles; 20,000 date palm trees.
Each year, the farm supplies the market with about 16,000 breeding pigs, 15 tons of fish, soft-shell turtles, etc., with an average total revenue of 30 billion VND/year, creating jobs for 40 regular workers and 20 seasonal workers with an average salary of 8-10 million VND/person/month. The farm's products have good productivity and quality, and are trusted by the market.
During the investment and production process on the farm, Mr. Cuong actively applies scientific and technical advances to production practices to achieve high efficiency. Combining high-tech livestock and crop farming processes to increase productivity and reduce costs. Applying circular agricultural production to make the most of waste from livestock and crop farming to ensure savings and environmental hygiene...
The "Millionaire Farmer" Club, chaired by Mr. Cuong, always operates effectively, helping farmers find jobs and increase their income.
In addition to his passion and desire to get rich from agriculture, Mr. Cuong also joined the district's "Millionaire Farmer" club and was elected as its chairman. During his activities, he always enthusiastically helped farmer members in difficult circumstances while maintaining the farm's production and breeding activities to maintain the title of Central-level Excellent Farmer Business Household every year. The "Millionaire Farmer" club helps to form agricultural tours in the district with many sightseeing spots when tourists return to the locality.
With these achievements, Mr. Le Manh Cuong was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Thuy province and district. In 2022, Mr. Cuong was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President for his outstanding achievements in labor, production, and business, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
