Defeating Lebanon, Vietnam futsal team won ticket to Asian tournament

(Dan Tri) - The Vietnamese futsal team won 4-0 against Lebanon on the afternoon of September 24, in the final match of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship qualifying round. Coach Giustozzi and his team won a ticket to the final round with the top position in Group E.

The Vietnamese futsal team is in a good position before entering the final match of the qualifying round against Lebanon. Coach Giustozzi and his team only need a draw to top Group E and win a ticket to the final round of the tournament taking place in Indonesia in 2026.

With a higher level than their opponents, the Vietnamese futsal team entered the game strongly but Lebanon fought back fiercely. The deadlock was broken in the 10th minute when Nguyen Da Hai scored to open the score. The loss stunned the Lebanese players, and within just over a minute after the first goal, Lebanon conceded two more goals. Nguyen Manh Dung and Tu Minh Quang are scoring for the Vietnamese team.

After scoring 3 goals, the Vietnamese team took the initiative to control the match and did not let the opponent rise up. They did not attack continuously, but every time the Vietnamese team accelerated, it made the Lebanese defense falter, so the opponent did not dare to use power-play to concentrate on attacking.

The game situation remained unchanged in the first minutes of the second half. In the 25th minute, Lebanon had only 4 players on the field because one player received a red card. Seizing the opportunity to have more players, the Vietnamese team scored to raise the score to 4-0 thanks to Vu Ngoc Anh.

The 4-0 score was enough for Vietnam to secure victory. Coach Giustozzi's players played calmly in the remaining time, actively controlling the ball, avoiding fierce disputes that could cause injuries. Lebanon, although needing a goal, only dared to play power-play in the last 2 minutes of the match and the pressure they created was not enough to score an honorary goal.

In the end, Vietnam won 4-0 and took the top spot in Group E with 9 points after 3 matches, with a goal difference of 20-3. Lebanon finished second in Group E with 4 points, with a goal difference of -1.
