List of 18 teams officially eliminated from U23 Asia 2026

After 2 matches, 18 teams officially failed to qualify for the 2026 U23 Asian Cup finals.

The 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers have gone through 2/3 of the matches and the race for tickets to the final round has soon ended with 18 teams.

The main reason why these 18 teams had to say goodbye early was because they all suffered two consecutive defeats. With this result, they no longer had the chance to compete for the top spot in the group to get a direct ticket and could not enter the group of second-placed teams with the best results.

Among the eliminated teams, there are many names from the Southeast Asian region such as Timor Leste, Singapore, Brunei, Myanmar and Laos. In Group A, the situation was decided after the match on September 6 when Taiwan was defeated 0-6 by Jordan, while Bhutan also lost 0-2 to Turkmenistan.

Similarly in Group B, Myanmar failed to create any surprises when they lost 1-2 to Japan, while Afghanistan lost 0-1 to Kuwait, thereby both sides left the tournament together.

In addition, in Group C, two teams have also been confirmed not to qualify, namely Singapore and Bangladesh after suffering two consecutive defeats. Vietnam and Yemen are competing fiercely for the top spot in the group.

Next in Group D, two consecutive losses for Timor Leste and Northern Mariana Islands also said goodbye to the dream of going to Saudi Arabia next year.

Continuing in group F, Mongolia also no longer has a chance to qualify for the final round after suffering two defeats.
