The high school graduation exam took place on June 26-28. More than one million candidates took four exams including Literature, Math, Foreign Language, and a combination exam (Natural Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology; or Social Sciences: History, Geography, Civic Education ).

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, Head of the National Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, chaired the press conference.

Notably, the 2024 high school graduation exam history exam code 319, question number 40 caused controversy over the correct answer.

Accordingly, teachers chose two different answers in the question related to the value of the " Dien Bien Phu in the air" victory in 1972. Meanwhile, according to the multiple choice format of the 2024 high school graduation exam, there is only one correct answer.

Regarding the above information, at the press conference, Professor Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Head of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training - said that he had grasped the information and would discuss it with the test-making team. At the same time, Mr. Ha affirmed that not only for History, but also for other subjects, teachers in the test-making team will continuously grasp and update information.

Also related to the exam, before the exam day, information about "the Literature exam was leaked" spread on social networks, causing public confusion. Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that the exam questions were kept absolutely confidential.

According to the plan, from tomorrow, localities will begin the exam grading process. At exactly 8:00 a.m. on July 17, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the exam scores.

After the results are available, the Departments of Education and Training will organize the high school graduation exam. Candidates will check their graduation results and receive their temporary graduation certificates within three days, July 21-23. They can use their graduation exam scores to apply for university and college admission.
