Vietnamese people consider Tet Nguyen Dan as a time for family reunions in the space of long-standing customs and traditions and looking forward to a journey full of hope for the upcoming year. This is also an occasion for Vietnamese people to return to their homeland not only to reunite with loved ones but also to travel together to create unforgettable memories to welcome the new year.
Dalat city center at night is crowded with tourists
Booking.com, one of the world's leading online travel companies, has just announced a list of the 10 most popular destinations for domestic tourists during the Lunar New Year. This list is based on searches and bookings from February 8 to 14, equivalent to December 29 to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year.
Beach tourism remains the top choice for Vietnamese tourists. According to a survey by Booking.com, tourists tend to look for cooler weather to escape the heat, with 82% of respondents saying they are interested in water-based vacations this year. This demand is reflected in the top 10 domestic destinations most searched for by Vietnamese tourists, with 6 out of 10 being beach destinations such as Nha Trang, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne and Hoi An.

Besides the beach, Vietnamese tourists also visit bustling cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, or ancient towns like Hoi An, and the mountainous Sa Pa region with its majestic terraced fields.
