Center for Science and Technology Application and Testing of Measuring Instruments at Medical Facilities
Previously, the inspection of measuring instruments for commune and ward health stations was often coordinated through the district health center. However, when the two-level government model officially operated, health stations worked directly with provincial-level professional agencies, requiring more proactive and stricter compliance with technical standards.
One of the most important requirements for medical facilities is to ensure the accuracy of equipment, which directly affects the results of diagnosis and treatment. Equipment such as: spring blood pressure monitors, mercury blood pressure monitors, table scales, spring clock scales, electrocardiographs, electroencephalographs, etc. are required to be periodically inspected according to regulations. Having to move equipment to the Center for inspection can cause disruptions in operations, cost money and time for medical stations with limited resources.
To overcome difficulties and provide maximum support to grassroots health care, the Center has developed a specific plan and directly sent a working group to local health stations to conduct the inspection of measuring instruments. Instead of waiting for the unit to send a request, the Center proactively contacted, arranged a reasonable and scientific schedule, and carried out the inspection on the spot.
This approach brings many practical benefits to improve service efficiency for medical facilities. Notably:
Save time and costs: Medical stations do not have to send staff and transport equipment far away, minimizing costs and not interrupting professional work. In addition, it also ensures the stability of results after inspection (because after the inspection is completed, the measuring equipment does not have to be transported far away).
Ensuring consistency and contributing to increasing service revenue for the inspection unit: All measuring instruments on the inspection list are reviewed without omission, ensuring that 100% of the equipment is inspected and meets measurement standards before being put into use. In fact, in 04 days from August 13-16, 2025, the Center's working group inspected measuring instruments at the Medical Centers of new communes after the merger such as: Bao Lac, Bao Lam, Hung Dao, Huy Giap... The inspection results were 119 measuring instruments of all types, an increase of 10% compared to 2024.
Raising awareness at the facility: The Center's inspectors also advise and guide medical staff at the station on how to properly use and maintain equipment to maintain long-term accuracy.
The Center's proactive implementation of on-site inspections has clearly demonstrated its flexibility, sense of responsibility and ability to effectively coordinate between specialized agencies in the new administrative model. This is a timely solution, helping commune and ward health stations comply with legal regulations on measurement, while directly contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, strengthening people's trust in the grassroots health system.
This active participation also affirms the commitment of the provincial government: In any organizational model, the highest goal is still to ensure and continuously improve the quality of public services, especially health care for the people./.
