Promote the production and use of organic fertilizers and biological pesticides.

The Provincial People's Committee has just approved the plan to implement the Project on developing the production and use of organic fertilizers and biological pesticides in the province by 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The project aims to promote the production and use of organic fertilizers and biological pesticides, contributing to the development of green, ecological, safe and sustainable agriculture , increasing productivity and product quality, protecting human health; at the same time, exploiting the potential and advantages of available organic materials to produce organic fertilizers and biological pesticides.

By 2030, strive to increase the use of organic fertilizers to at least 30% of the total amount of fertilizers used in agricultural production; the use of biological pesticides to 30% of the total amount of pesticides used. At least 70% of districts, towns and cities will build a model for using organic fertilizers and biological pesticides linked to the value chain for key products and specialties with local advantages.

Vision by 2050 to become one of the provinces with a high rate of organic fertilizer and biological pesticide use in the country, with the area of cultivation using organic fertilizer and biological pesticides accounting for 50%.

Over 90% of districts, towns and cities have built models for using organic fertilizers and biological pesticides linked to the value chain for key products and specialties with local advantages. 100% of available raw materials from cultivation, livestock, aquaculture, household waste... are used as organic fertilizers and biological pesticides both at household scale and in agricultural production.

It is known that in recent times, the agricultural sector has focused on directing the application of biotechnology in agricultural production to create clean, large-scale, uniform products to increase added value and production efficiency.

Up to now, in the province, the area of organic rice production and organic-oriented crops has reached over 5,000 hectares; there are 3 organic fertilizer production facilities with a capacity of over 400 tons/year; the amount of organic fertilizer produced by households for use in agricultural production is estimated at 50,000 tons/year.
