Currently, the province has 2 continuing education centers, 9 vocational education - continuing education centers and Lang Son College, with more than 5,000 students studying. To meet the requirements of vocational education innovation, the units have simultaneously adjusted teaching methods, supplemented appropriate equipment, and promoted cooperation with businesses to teach closely to production practices.
At Cao Loc Vocational Education Center - Continuing Education, in the 2025 - 2026 school year, there are nearly 450 students studying in many professions. Among them, Chinese, culinary techniques and interior design - construction electricity and water are the majors chosen by many students. Mr. Trieu Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of the center, said: To teach vocational skills associated with practice, the center has focused on investing in many practice rooms such as IT room, welding room, cooking room, beauty care room. In addition, the center also cooperates with other training facilities such as Construction College No. 1, Hanoi Community College - Lang Son branch, Northeast Agricultural and Forestry Technology College, ... to help students access a diverse training environment, have opportunities to study and practice.
Similarly, at the Center for Continuing Education - Information Technology and Foreign Languages of the province, the unit also clearly identified practical needs to build suitable training professions such as food processing techniques, restaurant - hotel services, civil electricity were selected for key investment. From there, synchronously equipped with cooking stoves, processing tools, practice rooms for table service, room service, reception, electrical equipment systems, technical model boards, etc. Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Head of the Center's Training Management Department shared: Investing in facilities and practice equipment has created conditions for students to not only learn theory but also practice vocational skills in an environment close to real work. They practice professional manners, know how to handle situations in the working environment, thereby improving the quality of training, helping students easily adapt and meet the requirements of businesses after graduation.
In fact, not only the two above units but also most other vocational training centers in the province also focus on implementing the motto "theory linked to practice", regularly organizing for students to visit and experience real life at enterprises. This activity not only consolidates professional knowledge but also helps students quickly access the industrial environment, more confident when entering the labor market. Along with that, the units have actively invested in facilities and equipment suitable for each training industry. Thanks to that, students have many opportunities to practice and come into contact with equipment and technology during the learning process. This is a great advantage when employers today no longer focus on degrees but value practical working skills.
At Lang Son College, the largest vocational training facility in the province, there have also been many innovations. In recent times, the school has built and upgraded the workshop, put into operation a system of equipment for practicing fashion sewing with modern industrial sewing machines. Along with that, the school has equipped 2 information technology rooms with a synchronous computer system, added electrical and mechanical equipment, and built a workshop for practicing agriculture applying new standard technology. These investments create the best learning and vocational training environment for students, meeting the increasingly high demands of the training program and the labor market.
Student Dang Thuy Nga, Sewing and Fashion Design class, Lang Son College shared: “During the course, we practiced directly on the modern industrial sewing machine system that the school invested in. Thanks to that, I practiced my skills proficiently, and got familiar with the production process like in professional sewing factories. This helped me feel more confident when I graduated, I could work in a business or open my own garment factory at home to develop my career.”
Along with investing in facilities, vocational training units also actively respond to emulation movements, implementing innovative teaching methods in the direction of developing learners' capacity. Teachers proactively develop appropriate lesson plans, focusing on life skills education and professional training. Testing and assessment of learning outcomes are also innovated in the direction of assessing capacity and skills. Thanks to that, the quality of training is increasingly improved, students are not only solid in theory but also proficient in skills. According to the units, every year the rate of students who have jobs or choose to continue studying after graduation reaches more than 90%.
With the training orientation closely linked to practice, along with the attention to synchronous investment in facilities and equipment of vocational training institutions in the province, it has created a quality and practical learning environment for students. Thereby, learners not only acquire knowledge and practice professional skills but also improve their adaptability, contributing to the supply of highly skilled technical human resources, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development of the province in the current period.
