Beware of flash floods and landslides in 5 provinces in the North and Central regions

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from now until 23:50, the provinces of Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh, Da Nang, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will continue to have rain; warnings of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes in many communes/wards in these 5 Northern and Central provinces.

Specifically, the common accumulated rainfall is as follows: Quang Ninh from 5-15mm, some places over 25mm; Ha Tinh from 10-20mm, some places over 40mm; Da Nang , Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa from 10-30mm, some places over 60mm.

Can Loc, Co Dam, Dong Loc, Duc Dong, Duc Minh, Duc Quang, Duc Thinh, Duc Tho, Gia Hanh, Hong Loc, Huong Son, Nghi Xuan, Bac Hong Linh, Nam Hong Linh, Son Tien, Truong Luu, Tu My, Tung Loc, Xuan Loc ( Ha Tinh province);

Dong Duong, Phuoc Chanh, Phuoc Thanh; Dac Pring, Ha Nha, Hiep Duc, Kham Duc, La Dee, La Ee, Phu Thuan, Phuoc Hiep, Phuoc Nang, Phuoc Tra, Son Cam Ha, Thuong Duc, Tra Doc, Tra Leng, Viet An (Da Nang city);

Flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

The hydrometeorological agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to have prevention and response measures.

From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on September 26, the provinces of Quang Ninh and Ha Tinh had moderate to heavy rain, such as: Cam Pha 94.6mm, Cua Ong 60.6mm (Quang Ninh); Do Diem 97.2mm, Dai Loc 68.2mm (Ha Tinh);...

Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above provinces are close to saturation (over 85%) or have reached saturation.
