On the evening of June 28, a music night commemorating the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first arrival in Petrograd, now St. Petersburg (June 30, 1923 - June 30, 2023) took place at the St. Petersburg Mining University Hall named after Empress Catherine II.
The program is organized by the Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation in coordination with the St. Petersburg city government and St. Petersburg Mining University.
Attending the event were representatives of the St. Petersburg city government, the Board of Directors of St. Petersburg Mining University, the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation, the Association of Vietnamese people in the Russian Federation, along with a large number of Vietnamese community members and students studying in Russia as well as Russian friends.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vyacheslav Kalganov, Vice Chairman of the St. Petersburg City Foreign Affairs Committee, said that all work to inaugurate the Ho Chi Minh monument on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his arrival in Petrograd has almost been completed, only waiting for the moment of inauguration and this is a symbol of friendship between the Russian Federation and Vietnam.
For his part, Mr. Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation, expressed his joy that the music night had the majority of Vietnamese and Russian youth attending and performing.
You are intelligent, hard-working and responsible, but it is important that this future generation clearly understands their responsibility to the people and the country.
Mr. Do Xuan Hoang wished both Vietnam and the Russian Federation to gather enough strength and determination to overcome the challenges ahead.
The concert mainly consisted of songs and dances praising the country and people of Vietnam as well as the Russian Federation. The Vietnamese performances were the best selections, performed by Vietnamese students studying and researching in Moscow.
Between the performances of Vietnamese and Russian students from St. Petersburg State Mining University, there were also performances by Indonesian and Myanmar students.
Songs like Distant Homeland (from the film 17 Moments of Spring); The Horse, Russia's Exciting Youth or Vietnam on the Road We Go, and the dance Hello Vietnam received endless applause from the audience.

Student Tran Cong Tam Anh, a student at the University of Friendship of Peoples (RUDN), participated in the performance and said that this was an opportunity to remember history, to remember the greatness of Uncle Ho, and also to help students understand the good relationship between the two countries.
The concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's arrival in the Soviet Union is the first event in a series of events leading up to the official inauguration of the Ho Chi Minh statue at the intersection of Ho Chi Minh Street and Enlightenment Avenue in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his arrival in this beautiful ancient city to find a way to liberate the country.
