Professional activities through field trips are such an example. The actual traveling and writing has helped members improve their knowledge, expand their relationships and write profound articles that reflect the breath of life. Journalist Kieu Thanh Hung - Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Journalists Association had a conversation with the Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper about this practical activity.

+ Based on professional practice, in recent times, the activities of the Hanoi Journalists Association have always been associated with practical work trips that have been very popular with members. Could you please share more specifically about this?

- First of all, it can be said that the field trips are organized based on the annual work program that the Association's leaders have proposed and agreed upon by the Inter-branch and branch levels. We base on the annual work tasks of Hanoi City in conjunction with key activities. What is the cooperation between the NBHN Association and the provinces and cities, along with the requirements of the branches, Inter-branch and members, what are they expecting, entrusting, and relying on in the field trip...? At the same time, is there a plan to call on businesses, People's Committees of provinces and cities, and press agencies to accompany and create favorable conditions...?

With those issues, if all requirements are met, we will immediately have a suitable organization plan. For example, based on the key work programs of the City Party Committee and Hanoi City in 2023, there are 10 major work programs, along with the requirements from the City's competitions such as 2 press awards on Party building and the political system and the award on culture, building elegant and civilized Hanoians, and then based on the exchange and cooperation between the Hanoi Association, localities, businesses... we have organized many very effective trips... Even field trips to other provinces and cities have been implemented with attention.

Most recently, we organized a very successful trip for our brothers to write about Muong culture in Hoa Binh . This year, Hoa Binh is the leader of the QL6 emulation cluster, launching a writing contest on the topic "Preserving and promoting national cultural identity in the integration process". Based on that, we informed the press agencies in Hanoi, how to outline writing about Hoa Binh culture? After the National Cultural Conference, how did Hanoi implement it and together determined that Hanoi and Hoa Binh have common points, similarities with each other and the requirements of the two sides. In addition, we called on businesses of the two localities to join hands, creating conditions for press agencies to penetrate reality, to learn about models of combining tourism with culture...

+ How has the implementation of practical operational activities for reporters and members contributed to improving the effectiveness of professional activities, sir?

- With practical experience, I think that, firstly, the requirements set out, the annual plans and programs have been met. Secondly, the team of reporters and editors have been exposed to reality and have gained more knowledge. Thirdly, from the knowledge acquired in reality, they have good ideas to contribute to creating quality works, good and effective products to participate in the press awards of the City, ministries, branches and the National press...

We see that members participating in the field trips are very satisfied in many aspects. First, they complete the tasks set by the Editorial Board. Second, they gain real life experience, adding material to write works that have a wide spread and high effectiveness in society, thereby arousing passion and nurturing the fire of the profession...

+ To have success and effectiveness in practical activities, I think that an important factor that cannot be ignored is the dynamism of the Association's leadership in organizing, mobilizing and connecting, don't you think?

- That's right. The most important success in the field trips for members is that the Association's leaders must be truly proactive. The Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Association must promote the advantages, position and role of the Association in the locality and the localities need to work so that when contacting for work and coordination, they will always be warmly welcomed.

The provincial and municipal Journalists Association, if it wants to do and promote its role, must rely on the potential and strengths of the locality and businesses in the area to bring delegations to businesses and spread information in the locality and businesses to the people... If it is not proactive, it will be difficult to implement. For example, the annual practical program of the Hanoi Journalists Association is a program in coordination with the Political Department - Border Guard Command.

We have signed for 9 years and maintained it very well. Every year, we organize 2 groups, at the beginning of the year we go to the North, the Association asks for the flag on top of Lung Cu flagpole, at the end of the year we go on a business trip to the Southern border posts to propagate about the border and islands, and recently we visited the Hanoi Flagpole at Ca Mau Cape and received Flag No. 77 from the officers and soldiers of Dat Mui Border Post... During these business trips, the tasks of Party work, political work, and propaganda for the border and islands are widely spread by Hanoi press, the articles are also printed into books, every year there is 1 volume published, 9 years are 9 volumes very meaningful...
