The revolutionary relic of the Cipher Bunker - General Staff is preparing to open to visitors.

Deep underground, between solid walls and the dim light of hurricane lamps, the Cipher Bunker - General Staff Headquarters was once the "secret heart" of military information during the years when our army and people fought to protect the Fatherland.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the revolutionary relic of the Cipher Bunker - General Staff Headquarters in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel heritage will open to visitors for the first time from August 19, 2025.

The Censorship Bunker was completed on June 30, 1966, and was most used in late 1972 when US aircraft bombed the North. The Censorship Bunker is being actively renovated, before opening to visitors on August 19, 2025.

The ventilation fans are running at full capacity because the basement is small and narrow (more than 37m2 ⁾ . Therefore, the basement can only accommodate a maximum of 10 visitors at a time.

Images of officers, soldiers and important secret telegrams have been put on display.

The relic site officials are handing over the information on display which will be interpreted using many new technologies so that people and visitors can feel the working atmosphere at the previous historical moment.

Many special artifacts are displayed for the first time such as: secret telegrams, seal system, sato cover (code lock), fountain pen without grain, block to record the names of cadres...

Levels of confidential seals such as: C58 seal; Top urgent seal; Extremely urgent seal; Seal that only the named person can open and see... are displayed.

Ms. Chu Thi Hien, staff of the heritage research and collection department, Thang Long- Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, with valuable artifacts.

The artifacts were donated to the Relic Site Management Board by the officers and soldiers working at the secret bunker.

Hurricane lamps and water bottles, familiar items for code soldiers during this period.

The officers and soldiers who once worked at the bunker will be invited by the relic management board to attend the upcoming opening ceremony of the secret bunker.
