The destination known as 'miniature Da Lat' will become a regional tourist center.

Accordingly, the goal is to build and develop Mang Den Tourist Area to become one of the driving forces for tourism development in the country. By 2045, Mang Den Tourist Area strives to become a national and regional tourism, resort and cultural center, with a synchronous and modern social and technical infrastructure system, diverse and high-quality tourism products, with brands and the ability to compete with other countries in the region.

Developing Mang Den Tourist Area aims to promote the exploitation of unique advantages in terms of climate conditions, natural landscapes and traditional cultural features imbued with local identity; ensuring sustainable development, synchronous social infrastructure system, technical infrastructure, protecting ecological environment, landscape, effectively responding to climate change, preventing and combating natural disasters.

To achieve the above goals, one of the key requirements for planning research is to study the model of eco-tourism development, urban-tourism spatial structure; distribution of urban-rural systems on the basis of inheriting the Mang Den Eco-tourism Area Construction Planning Project; Kon Plong Urban Master Plan... Organizing space for the functions of Mang Den Tourism Area such as the main tourism center with the nature of a center concentrating most of the products and services typical of the large scale of the tourist area, satellite tourist spots, urban-rural areas; landscape protection areas - relics; protection of natural forest areas; production forests for tourism exploitation, organizing the connecting infrastructure system must ensure compliance with the provisions of the Forestry Law and related legal provisions and adapt to climate change.

The area studied for the Master Plan for the construction of Mang Den Tourist Area is about 90,152 hectares. Mang Den is a small town bordering Quang Ngai province, with a cool climate all year round with pine forests and cloud-covered hills, about 60 km from Kon Tum city. For many years, this place has been likened to "miniature Da Lat" by tourists.

Last year, the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee sent a dispatch to the Prime Minister proposing to add the Mang Den Airport planning to the National Airport System Development Master Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. According to the proposal of the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, Mang Den Airport has a scale of a level 4E airport, expected to be built in Mang Den Town, Kon Plong District.
