A candidate's high school graduation exam score increased from 1.1 to 8.75 after review

In 350 high school graduation exams in 2025 of Lao Cai province after review, two exams had their scores changed, one candidate had his score added up to 7.65 points.

According to the announcement of the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province on the results of the re-examination of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the whole province has 350 exam papers re-examined, of which 11 papers belong to the 2006 program and 339 papers belong to the 2018 program.

The re-examination exam is divided into two areas: Area 1 (former Yen Bai province) and Area 2 (former Lao Cai province).

Specifically, there were 2 exams with adjusted scores, in which one literature exam was adjusted from 6.75 points to 7.0 points after review.

A biology exam score before the review was 1.1 points, the score after the review was 8.75 points.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province, the biology exam score was adjusted from 1.1 to 8.75 because the candidate wrote the wrong exam code on the exam receipt, wrote and filled in the wrong exam code on the multiple-choice answer sheet compared to the exam code that was distributed.

According to statistics, the whole country has over 1.16 million candidates taking the high school graduation exam in 2025, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to last year.

This year's exam is organized for two groups of candidates: the group taking the exam according to the 2018 general education program (also known as the new program) with more than 1.13 million students, and the group taking the exam according to the 2006 program (old program) with about 25,000 students.
