On the evening of July 24, Lan Phuong caused a stir when she announced on her personal page that she and her Western husband had officially separated after 7 years together.
"There are visible wounds - someone will come to help bandage. But there are wounds that lie deep inside, lasting for years, silently endured - no one can see but yourself. So it's hard to share or receive appropriate help. But I'm still here, trying every day, for myself, for the children. We are officially separated," she wrote.
Responding to VietNamNet, Lan Phuong asked permission not to share more about her separation because she is in a difficult phase and will speak up when appropriate. The actress also confirmed that she is in the process of unilateral divorce from her Western husband.
They just welcomed their second daughter last March and had a happy reunion during Tet in Vung Tau - Lan Phuong's hometown.
However, for the past 3 months, the actress of the movie "Thuong Ngay Nang Ve" has been sharing status lines that hint at loneliness and personal pain that is difficult to resolve, causing many viewers to worry. The fact that Lan Phuong has lost weight is also a sign that the actress is having problems.
The Ugly Girl actress once shared about the difficult time without her husband by her side during the last months of her pregnancy as well as having to take care of her child alone, struggling with an unhealed surgical wound as well as postpartum depression.
Lan Phuong's husband suddenly transferred to Da Nang for work, leaving her alone with her two daughters. There was a time when the actress decided to move to Da Nang to live with her Western husband, but then the three of them returned to Hanoi .
Lan Phuong’s recent posts only feature her and her children, with her husband completely absent. The last post with all family members was in early February when they returned to Vung Tau for Tet. In an interview with VietNamNet in June, the actress said her husband’s lack of empathy left her feeling alone and exhausted.
After 2 years of stopping acting to focus on giving birth to her second child, Lan Phuong has recently officially returned to the screen in a new film project of VFC.
