Cu Van Communal House - A historical relic

80 years have passed, but the important historical event that took place at Cu Van communal house (Dinh hamlet, An Khanh commune, now hamlet 8) is still intact in people's hearts. Because it is the memory of the time when "the country rose up". The place was chosen by history as a resting place and gathering place for the revolutionary army.

Cu Van Communal House was rebuilt by local people.

During the historic days of August, we had the opportunity to visit the Cu Van communal house historical site to hear stories about a revolutionary land. That was the story of 3 days before the liberation of Thai Nguyen town, comrade Vo Nguyen Giap led the revolutionary army from Tan Trao (Son Duong - Tuyen Quang) to gather at the Cu Van communal house yard.

That afternoon, August 17, 1945, the people of Dinh hamlet and the local people enthusiastically welcomed and supported the Viet Minh. Mr. Truong Van Thiet, a local tailor, was assigned the task of sewing the national flag to serve the rally that took place early the next morning.

And that flag fluttered brightly under the August autumn sky, the people in the area excitedly gathered to respond to the call of the Viet Minh Commune Committee, listened to comrade Vo Nguyen Giap announce the order of the General Uprising to gain independence; announced the establishment of the Cu Van Commune Liberation Committee; established the National Salvation Youth Association; and the National Salvation Women's Association of Cu Van Commune.

He called on the people to participate in the General Uprising, to support food, provisions, and weapons. Immediately after the rally, comrade Vo Nguyen Giap led the liberation army along the trail from Cu Van through Song village, An Khanh commune, to Dan pagoda, Quyet Thang ward, to retrain the forces and then attack the Japanese fascists who were entrenched in the center of Thai Nguyen town.

Those heroic days have gone down in the history of the country. But what remains in the hearts of the people of Dinh hamlet is a sense of pride, forever shining with the spirit of revolutionary struggle. That memory is like a torch illuminating the hearts of generations of Dinh hamlet people to reach the shore of prosperity and happiness.

Currently, Dinh hamlet has 173 households, 623 people, people's income mainly comes from agricultural production, an average of 57 million VND/person/year in 2024.

People of Dinh hamlet participate in building rural infrastructure.

Although the economy is still facing difficulties, the people of Dinh hamlet always have a spirit of consensus, promoting the revolutionary tradition of their ancestors, actively contributing to building infrastructure.

Next to the Cu Van communal house worshipping the village's tutelary god, the people of Dinh hamlet contributed to building a spacious cultural house as a meeting place for the people. In the cultural house there is a legal bookcase, on the wall are solemnly hung certificates of merit and awards from various levels and sectors.

Mr. Truong Van Thang, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee of Dinh hamlet, said: The hamlet's cultural house and sports ground were built from socialized resources. Up to now, 100% of the hamlet's internal roads have been concreted, many roads to the fields have been concreted by the people who donated land and the State to meet new rural standards...
