Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation exchanges with overseas Vietnamese in France

(NLDO) – Completing the competition program at the 2024 Paris Paralympics early, on the evening of September 7, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation for People with Disabilities (TTNKT) became guests of the meeting at the Vietnam Cultural Center in France with the participation of many overseas Vietnamese.

From the idea of ​​Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Nhung, lecturer at SKEMA Business School Paris, after nearly 1 day of launching, nearly 70 overseas Vietnamese families and international students and former international students raised 3,200 euros and this amount was given directly to the athletes of the Vietnam TTNKT delegation at the meeting. The Kite Association presented 900 euros in cash and gifts donated by the members' families.

Children of overseas Vietnamese families excitedly took souvenir photos with the delegation.

While the parents shared their souvenir purchases, the Vietnamese students meticulously picked dried lavender buds and divided them into small bags, hoping that the group would bring something special from France back to Vietnam, just like the feelings of the people here are always lingering and passionate like the scent of flowers.

Mr. Thai Thanh Thiem, Vice President of the Association for the Promotion of Vietnamese Culture and Tourism in France and Europe, Director of Pacific Voyages, represented the Association to join in the celebration and presented cash gifts to the delegation.

Facing the warm feelings of overseas Vietnamese in France, members of the Vietnamese Paralympic Sports Delegation at the 2024 Paris Paralympics were all moved. Female athlete Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan was moved to share, "For me, France is the competition trip where I felt the warmest in the 6 times I have competed in an international tournament so far. I will always remember the confidences and sincere tears, the tight hugs, the lines of people lining up to ask for autographs on souvenir books, on shirts and lingering nostalgia after the meeting with overseas Vietnamese."

Pride was high when the entire hall of the Vietnam Cultural Center in France was filled with people facing the stage and singing together the song Road to Glory as the greatest compliment to the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
