During this period, 165 officers and staff of the 2nd echelon will move from Abyei back to the country. It is expected that on September 28, the forces will arrive at Noi Bai airport, Hanoi . The remaining 15 people will stay behind to hand over the work to the next echelon and 4 officers and staff will continue to carry out the task with the next echelon.
Previously, to ensure the good work of changing troops and handing over work to the 3rd echelon, the 2nd Engineering Team had completed all preparations in terms of human resources and goods.
It is known that the units coordinated with the mission's transport helicopter unit (MOVCON) to inspect and pack more than 200 consignment packages that had been gathered.
Also according to information from Engineering Team No. 2, from September 15 to 23, the delegation maintained and repaired key equipment to ensure the process of returning home.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hao - Deputy Captain of Engineering Team No. 2 - said that the team has distributed field food (CRP) to each individual, ensuring medical, logistics, and accommodation for all 165 officers and staff.
At the same time, coordinate with the mission's agencies at transit points to ensure the operation is not interrupted, ready for possible situations.
“The team command has assigned the comrades who stayed behind to coordinate closely with the 3rd team. In particular, focusing on working relationships with the mission's specialized agencies so that the implementation of the task can take place continuously, smoothly, and with the highest efficiency,” Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hao added.
The team's thorough preparation in all aspects helps Engineering Teams No. 2 and 3 as well as relevant agencies and units operate without interruption in carrying out the unit's tasks in the area.

On November 20, 2022, the Minister of National Defense signed a decision to establish the Engineering Team No. 2 under the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department to perform UN peacekeeping missions. The team has 203 members, including 184 official and 19 reserve (27 officers, 176 professional soldiers, 19 women).
This force is selected and mobilized from agencies and units: Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4; Army Corps 1, 2; branches: Engineers, Special Forces, Communications; Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and other agencies and units in the entire army.
In mid-August 2023, the 2nd Engineer Team arrived in Abyei to begin its UN peacekeeping mission.
