On the afternoon of September 9, Coach Kim Sang Sik announced the starting lineup of the Vietnam U23 team against Yemen U23 in the final round of Group C of the 2026 Asian U23 Qualifiers taking place at 7:00 p.m. at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ).

Similar to the previous two matches with U23 Bangladesh and Singapore, coach Kim Sang Sik continued to make 5 changes in the starting lineup in the match that decided the ticket to the Final Round with U23 Yemen.

It is noteworthy that coach Kim Sang Sik put the main striker Dinh Bac on the bench and refreshed the entire attack compared to the narrow 1-0 win over U23 Singapore. Specifically, Mr. Kim arranged the trio of strikers Van Khang, Quoc Viet and Ngoc My.

This is the first time in the 2026 AFC U23 qualifiers that Quoc Viet has started after only coming on as a substitute in the previous two matches. For Ngoc My, this is the second match in the starting lineup after the opening match against U23 Bangladesh and she was the one who scored the opening goal.

In the midfield, coach Kim Sang Sik also arranged for the first time the central midfielder duo Thai Son - Xuan Bac to play together. Captain and key midfielder Van Truong sat on the bench.

Left-back Phi Hoang returned to the starting lineup in this match to help improve the U23 Vietnam attack. But right-back Vo Anh Quan did not. Coach Kim Sang Sik still trusted Minh Phuc in this match as he did in the match against U23 Singapore.

In defense, center back Ly Duc also returned to replace Tuan Phong. This is also the main center back trio of U23 Vietnam alongside goalkeeper Trung Kien who played very solidly. All of this is to withstand the attack of U23 Yemen.
