In the second qualifying round of the 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Championship, the Vietnam U-17 Women's Team is in Group B with opponents Australia, Bangladesh and the Philippines. The Australian U-17 Women's Team is the first team to arrive in Vietnam to adapt and get used to the weather conditions. This team will practice at the PVF Youth Football Training Center from September 12 to 18. Here, the Australian U-17 Women's Team is expected to have a friendly match with an undisclosed "blue team". This team will return to Hanoi to prepare for the matches starting from September 20. The Bangladesh and Philippines teams will arrive in Vietnam on September 18.

Meanwhile, the U.17 Vietnam women's team gathered and practiced at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from August 15. After that, coach Akira Ijiri and his team trained in Nam Dinh for 3 weeks before returning to the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to complete preparations and participate in the tournament.

The Vietnam U.17 women's team has a big advantage when playing at home and has many opportunities to participate in the final round.

Sharing about the upcoming goal in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Asian U17 Women's Championship, Coach Akira Ijiri affirmed that the team's biggest goal is to pass the second qualifying round to participate in the 2024 Asian U17 Women's Championship. "I am thinking of a long-term strategy for the U.17 and U.20 youth women's teams in the next 4 years. To be able to participate in the World Cup depends on many factors, including a long-term plan and possibly starting with younger players. Vietnamese women's football has a gap with the world . When this gap is shortened, the story of participating in the World Cup will be simpler," said Mr. Akira Ijiri.

The matches in Group B will take place on September 20, 22 and 24 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. The four teams will compete in a round robin to determine the top two teams who will qualify for the 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Championship. This group is considered to be a suitable match for the Vietnam U-17 women's team. Of which, the Australian U-17 women's team is considered the biggest rival of the team led by coach Akira Ijri. However, the young Vietnamese girls have a big advantage when playing at home.
