(BGDT) - On the afternoon of May 30, at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee chaired a courtesy reception for the working delegation from Seo District, Daejeon City (Korea) led by Mr. Cheolmo, Chairman of the Seo District Government, who visited Bac Giang province.

At the reception, Comrade Mai Son expressed his pleasure to welcome the Chairman of the Seo District Government and the delegation to visit Bac Giang province; to sign a friendship cooperation agreement between the Bac Giang City People's Committee and the Seo District Government.

On this occasion, comrade Mai Son briefly introduced the socio-economic situation of Bac Giang province and the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Korea in general and Bac Giang province in particular.

Over the years, Bac Giang province has continuously made breakthroughs and grown thanks to taking advantage of its geographical location, terrain features, and qualified labor force. The province's annual economic growth has always been among the top provinces in the country.

The province always pays attention to education and health care for the people, thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The Bac Giang provincial government always maintains regular relations with the Korean Embassy in Vietnam; actively participates in exchange activities organized by the governments of Vietnam and Korea. The people of Bac Giang have great sympathy for the country and people of Korea.

Currently, Bac Giang province has organized Korean language classes for high schools in the province. Therefore, in the coming time, comrade Mai Son hopes that universities in Seo district will have coordinated programs to support students from Bac Giang province to study.

In addition to investing in industry and education, he hopes that Seo district investors can invest in the healthcare sector in Bac Giang province.

Mr. Cheolmo thanked the leaders of Bac Giang province for warmly welcoming the delegation, and said that since 2017, the People's Committee of Bac Giang city and the Seo district government have carried out a number of exchange and discussion activities to learn about potential areas of the two localities. These included discussing and agreeing on the exchange program for secondary school students between the two localities.

In May 2019, Le Quy Don Secondary School (Bac Giang City) and Daejeon Mun Jeong Secondary School (Seo District) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on educational exchange cooperation, thereby helping to enhance understanding of the culture and lifestyle of the people of the two countries.

The two sides exchanged and implemented a number of activities such as organizing online Korean classes for students of secondary schools in Bac Giang city.
