Dong Nai starts construction of 2,659 billion VND road connecting seaport with Long Thanh Airport

On September 27, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee started the project to build an inter-port road (phase 1).

The route is more than 15 km long, the starting point connects the road to Ong Keo Industrial Park, the end point connects with the road to Viet Thuan Thanh port.

In phase 1, Dong Nai province will invest in 8.8 km, with a scale of 4 - 8 lanes and build 5 bridges.

The project has a total investment of 2,659 billion VND from the provincial budget. The construction period according to the contract is 36 months, but the contractor consortium aims to reduce it to 30 months and strive to complete and put into operation by the end of March 2028.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the inter-port road is a key project, creating momentum for Nhon Trach urban area to break through and become a new growth pole of Dong Nai and the key economic region of the South.

The route is invested to connect seaports in Nhon Trach area to Long Thanh International Airport, when the airport is put into operation in phase 1 in 2026, contributing to the formation of a chain of ports, logistics, industrial parks and riverside urban areas.

The project also helps connect the road system between seaports in Dai Phuoc commune, creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in industrial parks.

On the same day, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province coordinated with investors to start construction and break ground on 7 social housing projects including: ChC1 and ChC2 social housing areas in Phuoc Tan ward; Social housing area in Tam Hiep ward; Social housing apartment complex on a 2.1-hectare land plot in Phuoc An commune; Social housing apartment complex on a 3.7-hectare land plot in Phuoc An commune; Social housing on a 3.5-hectare land plot in Trang Bom commune; Social housing on a 2.85-hectare land plot in Ho Nai ward and the Social housing project in Tan Trieu ward.
