Since early morning, the authorities have inspected the entire runway, ensuring there are no obstacles and that the technical systems are operating properly. The entire runway lighting system has been turned on, marking the airport as being in a state of readiness.

At about 6 o'clock, the specialized Beechcraft KingAir 300 series aircraft took off from Tan Son Nhat airport towards Long Thanh airspace to conduct test flights.
The plane approached low on runway 1 and flew over the runway to check the lighting system, then accelerated to climb.
The flight aimed to inspect the runway and carry out the important task of calibrating a series of navigation and aviation surveillance equipment systems, ensuring absolute safety before Long Thanh airport officially comes into operation.

According to the plan of the Department of Operations ( Ministry of National Defense ), the calibration flight will take place from September 26 to October 24, 2025. The vehicle used is a specialized Beech King Air 350ER aircraft, which is chosen by many countries in calibration activities thanks to its flexible maneuverability, high stability and ability to meet strict technical requirements.

During this flight, Air Traffic Management Engineering Company Limited (ATTECH), a member unit of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), will calibrate a series of important systems of Long Thanh airport .
Specifically, 2 ILS/DME precision landing support systems, 1 VOR/DME navigation system, 1 airport beacon system, radar surveillance systems, ADS-B and flight methods related to the above equipment.
The organization and implementation of calibration flights are directly carried out by ATTECH with a team of experienced experts from ATTECH, along with experts from the Czech Republic Air Navigation Academy, under flight license number 3792/TC-QC.

Previously, on September 16, to ensure absolute safety and efficiency, before conducting the calibration flight, the relevant parties held a coordination conference, with the participation of many units under VATM (Southern Air Traffic Management Company, ATTECH, Air Traffic Flow Management Center, Aviation Information Center, Aviation Meteorological Center...), Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board (ACV) and Air Force Division 370 to unify the process and plan to ensure all calibration flights take place safely, accurately and on schedule.
