Dong Nai proposes the Central Government to support more than 1,300 billion VND to repair and upgrade 4 national highways.

(DN) - On August 7, at the regular online Government meeting in July, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province Vo Tan Duc proposed that the Central Government support more than 1,300 billion VND to repair and upgrade 4 national highways.

According to Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, the Ministry of Construction has handed over to the Provincial People's Committee the management of road infrastructure assets of 4 routes: National Highway 1, National Highway 20, National Highway 51 and National Highway 56, with a total length of 150km. The current status of the handed over national highways has seriously degraded, especially National Highway 51, which urgently needs to be upgraded and repaired.

The estimated cost for comprehensive repairs of national highways passing through the province is more than 1,300 billion VND. Of which, National Highway 1 is estimated at 141 billion VND, National Highway 20 at 317 billion VND, National Highway 51 at 842 billion VND and National Highway 56 at 65 billion VND.

In the context of the province's budget still facing many difficulties due to focusing on investing in regional connecting traffic routes, the province proposed that the Government consider supporting the central budget with an amount of 1,365 billion VND to upgrade and repair the above national highways.

In addition to the above source, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 3388/UBND-KTNS dated April 1, 2025 proposing to support investment funding for a number of projects (Cat Lai Bridge, Ma Da Bridge and the access road from Ma Da Bridge to Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City) and Document No. 2153/UBND-KTN dated July 31, 2025 proposing to apply the form of investor selection in special cases to select investors for the fuel pipeline system for aircraft from the source port to the boundary of Long Thanh International Airport.

Previously, on June 6, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 7093/UBND-KTN to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction, proposing to allocate funds for the province to repair national highways passing through the area.
