
The Prime Minister requested coastal localities to check and count vessels operating at sea and provide guidance on safe shelters. Provinces and cities from Ha Tinh to Dak Lak were directed to immediately deploy measures to respond to the risk of heavy rain, landslides, flash floods, and inundation.
The Minister of Agriculture and Environment directs the work of protecting dikes, irrigation dams, and agricultural production; coordinates with the industry and trade sector and localities to direct the safe and effective operation of the inter-reservoir system.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 12 is forecast to make landfall in the area from Da Nang to Quang Ngai around October 23 with strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8; then weaken into a tropical depression on land.
The day the storm makes landfall, it will cause widespread heavy rain in the provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai. Common rainfall: Ha Tinh to North Quang Tri and Quang Ngai: from 200-400 mm, some places over 500 mm; South Quang Tri to Da Nang: 500-700 mm, some places over 900 mm.
From October 23 to 30, a major flood will occur on rivers from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, causing deep and widespread inundation, along with a high risk of flash floods and landslides.
