Hanoi tourism "explodes" on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day with revenue of 4.5 trillion VND

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism , after 4 days of National Day holiday on September 2, Hanoi welcomed about 2.08 million visitors, 3 times higher than the same period last year. Total tourism revenue was about 4.5 trillion VND, an increase of about 80% compared to the same period in 2024.

Of which, international visitors are estimated to welcome over 80 thousand visitors, an increase of 35% over the same period in 2024 (some leading markets include: China, Korea, India, Taiwan, USA, Japan, UK, Australia...). Total tourism revenue is about 4.5 trillion, an increase of about 80% over the same period in 2024.

In terms of accommodation, 3-5 star hotels have high room occupancy rates, many hotels reached 100% occupancy on September 1: Novotel Thai Ha Hotel, Novotel Suites Hotel, Lacasa Hanoi Hotel, Bao Son Hotel, Grand Mercue Hotel...

It is estimated that during the September 2, 2025 holiday, the average room occupancy rate of hotels and tourist apartments will reach about 83%, an increase of 22.6 percentage points over the same period in 2024.

According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang - Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, during this special holiday, Hanoi organized many activities and art programs, and at the same time, many exciting and attractive activities and events took place in tourist areas and attractions in the city, such as: Thematic exhibition "Sharp pen, red heart" at Hoa Lo Prison relic; a series of exhibitions and displays at Ho Chi Minh Museum...

Hanoi Department of Tourism continues to coordinate with the Management Board of President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to organize the giving of 35,000 gifts to tourists visiting the Mausoleum. This is a meaningful activity of Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Mausoleum Management Board, demonstrating the affection and responsibility in the service, reception and propaganda work of each officer, employee and soldier on duty at Uncle Ho Mausoleum.

On the evening of August 30, 2025, the Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Ba Dinh Ward to open the "Ba Dinh Red" program and a series of activities to promote Hanoi's cultural and historical tourism in 2025. On August 31, 2025, in Hanoi, the Department of Tourism organized a survey of the Hanoi - Bac Ninh 2-storey train tourism program called "The Hanoi Train - Hanoi 5-Cua O Tourist Train".

Also during this year's holiday, the exhibition on the 80th anniversary of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness took place at the National Exhibition Fair Center - Dong Anh with hundreds of activities every day, attracting nearly 1.2 million visitors in just 3 days (from August 28 to August 31, 2025).

Within the framework of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with the Center for the Essence of Vietnamese Craft Villages to organize a program to welcome foreign reporters and overseas Vietnamese reporters to visit and experience the ancient pottery village of Bat Trang (Gia Lam commune, Hanoi). Hanoi Department of Tourism organized activities to visit and survey some typical tourism products of Hanoi Capital including Duong Lam Ancient Village (Son Tay commune), experience Hanoi City Tour by Hop-On Hop-Off double-decker bus, freely explore some outstanding cultural and historical relics of the Capital.
