Of which, international tourists reached 666.7 thousand arrivals, an increase of 46.8% over the same period in 2024; Domestic tourists reached 3.5 million arrivals, 2 times higher than the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists reached 12,000 billion VND, an increase of 46.1% over the same period in 2024.
Thus, in the past 9 months, the capital's tourism industry has welcomed 26.07 million visitors, an increase of 23.8% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international tourists reached 5.54 million, an increase of 26% over the same period, domestic tourists reached 20.53 million, an increase of 23.2% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists reached 98.36 trillion VND, an increase of 20.7% over the same period in 2024.
Along with the strong recovery in the number of visitors, the hotel room occupancy rate in September reached 68.6%. In the past 9 months, the room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments reached 62.6%. Currently, in Hanoi, there are 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms; of which 85 hotels and apartment complexes are classified from 1 to 5 stars with a total of 11,965 rooms, specifically: 23 hotels and 07 apartment complexes are classified as 5 stars; 16 hotels and 1 apartment complex are classified as 4 stars; 12 hotels are classified as 3 stars; 14 hotels are classified as 2 stars and 12 hotels are classified as 1 star. The number of unregistered tourist accommodation establishments is 3,676 with 59,291 rooms.
The reason for the tourism breakthrough in September 2025 is the attraction from the activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). Notable among them are the Celebration, Parade, and March taking place on the morning of September 2 at Ba Dinh Square; Exhibition of the country's achievements "80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness journey" at the National Exhibition Fair Center (Dong Anh commune) and many music nights, fireworks shows, as well as other exhibitions and celebrations.
Last September, the Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with Vietnam Railways Corporation to direct BHL Tourism Service Trading Joint Stock Company to officially operate the Hanoi 5-door train - The Hanoi Train to serve the people and tourists.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that from now until the end of 2025, Hanoi Department of Tourism will advise the City People's Committee to issue a decision approving the Project to innovate the organizational model, management methods, conservation, and promotion of the value of the special national historical relic site and scenic spot of Huong Son complex (Huong Pagoda).
Develop unique, high-quality tourism products that meet market demand, specifically: Agricultural and rural tourism products; Night tourism; Community tourism associated with practical experiences of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities; Organize survey programs connecting tourist destinations of wards and communes with travel businesses in the area.
Promote the development of new types of tourism such as adventure sports tourism, experiential tourism, virtual reality tourism, etc. Promote the development of MICE tourism in locations with advantages in resort tourism and golf tourism associated with the organization and hosting of cultural, sports, political, social events, and major national and international festival programs.
